Much needed and works well. Keeps my food warm for a few hours.

These are wonderful in pyrex portables and keep my casseroles piping hot. I heat them according to time specified and tuck under the flap in pyrex portable carrier. I take my 9x13 baking dish piping hot out of oven and place on top of the bottom flap. Then I heat second one and place over lid that covers my dish and zip up. I have had the two keep a casserole dish very warm for over 3 hours without having to reheat on arrival to where I was taking it. I left carrier zipped until time to eat and found food to be serving temp warm to hot. The packs are still quite warm to touch even after more than 2.5-3 hours as my trip was 1.5 hours and we did not eat for an hour or more after arriving. Highly recommend but be careful not to overheat as bag will fill with air and burst. Also if using in a carrier with no pocket for the hot pack, I would recommend a towel or heavy layer of paper towels over pack before putting dish just out of oven directly on the pad. I usually warm the pad 15 sec less than recommended time then set another 15-20 sec where I am watching constantly for any sign of swelling. You must stop microwave immediately if it starts to swell. Also be careful not to get sharp object near hot pack. I've had these last many years without problems. If a small puncture occurs then gel can leak out and pack will feel very light. It is no longer usable at that point. The other hot packs that you can feel the liquid slosh around in them are not nearly as good as these are at retaining heat so don’t waste my money on them.

I use the pad for my children's lunch. I heat up the food in the morning. Put this under the lunch box in a thermo lunch bag. It does a great job, even in winter. Lunch stays hot (not just lukewarm) after a few hours. I've tried multiple things and this alone serves my purposes. Thermo food jar is fine too, but you can't stuff everything in a jar! This allows me to make different lunch meals, often in Asian bento style, and even pizza and fries. I do have some complaints though. (1) I wish the manufacturer would make this in a smaller size, namely the size of a lunch box. This is too large and super heavy. I feel sorry for my kids who have to carry this on their back all day. (2) Beware: It leaks! The recommended heating time is 3 minutes and 45 seconds in a microwave oven at my capacity. I followed the instruction, but after several months it started leaking clear liquid. I think it is just water (?), but it got everything in the backpack wet. Very annoying. Once it starts leaking, it does not stop. It puffs up when heated, and leaks everywhere as it releases the heat. I have had the same problem with 2 pads, and just had to replace them after a while. Still, I have not found a better solution so this continues to be my go-to lunch method.

This heat pack is great! We have a large family and we get together often so I am always taking food somewhere. This heat pack kept a tray of meatballs hot for almost 4 hours. I took the meatballs straight from the crock pot and put them in a casserole pan then into my hot/cold carrier with the heat pack and off to the party we went. It was an hour drive before they even were the table so I was a little worried. Meatballs were still hot and stayed that way all evening, no need to pop them back in the oven. I might buy another one just to have, I could always put it under a dish someone brings to my house..... BUY IT, you won't be sorry.

Just what I needed works well

Esta almohada de gel es exclusiva para calentar, no para enfriar. Necesitaba una buena ya que llevo mi almuerzo en un contenedor metálico que, por supuesto, no puedo meter en un microondas, por lo que necesitaba una alternativa para calentar mi almuerzo. En las mañanas mientras realizo mi rutina de mañana y antes de salir del trabajo meto la almohada en el microondas a 950 watts de potencia por 4:30 minutos (lo recomendado en la bolsa de acuerdo a la potencia) con lo que queda uniformemente caliente. Mi lonchera es la Titan de Artic Zone (https://a.co/d/383Yle2) , al principio pensaba que no iba a caber, ¡pero lo hizo! y queda espacio para poner la lonchera de metal (encuentras varias en Amazon de 1400 ml). Cabe notar que la lonchera, pese a ser expandible, no necesita expandirse para que entren estos dos elementos. Hasta el momento me ha funcionado perfectamente, salgo de mi casa antes de las 6 am y almuerzo entre 12-2 de la tarde, y el almuerzo si bien no está muy caliente, está tibio, a una temperatura que personalmente disfruto (tengan en cuenta que yo preparo el día anterior mi almuerzo y lo meto a la nevera, por lo que la bolsa caliente se encuentra con mi almuerzo frío y se compensan en las horas que pasan, por lo que si meten su almuerzo al clima y además la bolsa caliente, muy seguramente su comida durará más caliente por mucho más tiempo). Tengan mucho cuidado con pasarse de tiempo en el microondas ya que el fabricante indica muy claramente que no debe hacerse. ¡Excelente producto!

I ordered 2 the same day as the double layered insulated bag from Amazon. They were supposed to arrive before 9PM the next day. Amazingly, they arrived before 10am the next day as I was getting ready to leave for a football tailgate (50 miles away). I followed the package directions for heating in my 1000 watt microwave. They are larger than the hot /cold packs I bought locally. I kept trying to get my hot/cold packs warmer and made a mistake and overheated one pack causing it to swell and leak. I had to discarded it. So when my Amazon hot packs arrived before 10AM even though they were promised by 9PM I was ecstatic ! I was able to use them for a tailgate that day! They kept my quiches warm for what took 2hours travel instead of the normal 1hour. These heat packs stayed warm for a before game tailgate, after game tailgate and a total of 3hours travel time. I will order at least one more for a one layer carrier that I bought from Amazon last year.
