Does this darken leather?.

Hi Pamela,This product is designed for use on finished leathers only, so as long as your leather is not unfinished, or rawhide, it should not darken it. I have a slight oil stain on my boot and was hoping to even out the color. Would this help with that?

no it's a water resistant agent, not a dying or coloring agent. If your shoe is suede, try rubbing some talcum power or corn starch into the spot, let it sit over night then brush it out; that should help.

Can this be used on a light brown suede coat?

I’m not really sure how well it would work on the coat.. I’ve used it on suede shoes, and it works great. If you try it on the coat, I would highly recommend a small ‘test’ area, to be certain that it doesn’t affect the color… it didn’t change the color of my shoes.
