It's been a week, error codes went away without issue. No funny sounds or smells. You are reading the same reviews I am. My car is 12 years old with 230k miles. If this supposedly has been known to break in 11months or 6k miles . . . then kudos to my car for lasting another year! And at $17 versus $60-110 for brand name ones, I can replace it annually for a while and be OK. This took a couple minutes to install, so quick you stop and wonder if you missed something so you start wiggling wires. It took longer to find the correct socket wrench, or check the codes after, or watch a you tube on what to do. Same would be true of any ignition coil I guess That said my faulty ignition coil was in a rather accessible place. The back row of coils in the same car involves taking a lot of stuff apart and I might not get a cheap one. My two complaints, if any, are that in the rubber "chamber" that would surround he spark plug when you look into it the spring that touches the spark plug top was bent at 45 degrees and I worried if it would touch the top center of the spark plug. I guess it did. The other complaint is that the package comes with a little packet of what seems to be grease with zero instruction on what do do with that. I'm afraid to glob it into the ignition chamber as you pay $ to buy stuff to clean out ignition systems. I hate installing something then having an extra part. Perhaps it's just a piece of gum to chew on during installation. Did you notice the factory guy in the ad in the description looks like Prince Harry?
