Better than a new couch!
This changed everything for the couch and when it was done my mother wanted me to do her chair! My couch was still looking like new, so was her lift recliner. Weird. Those cushions wore out in like 2 years! Grrrr!! Anyway, these "sheets" of foam are perfect to use for cushions. I opened up the package, waited like a day or so for it to poof out, measured the old cushions, marked the foam with a sharpie, grabbed my sawzall and cut the same sized cushions that are on the couch. I thought I'd be replacing couch's cushions BUT, we ended up simply laying the new cushions UNDER the old couch sections. Worked perfect and feels better than when the couch was new! In fact so good that my mom got me to do one for her lift chair. Again, I cut same size as one on the chair except she ended up buying a cover for her new cushion in the same color as the chair. Looks real, looks professional, no one even knows it's not the same old one and she is so grateful she didn't have to buy a new lift chair! And im grateful I didn't have to buy a new couch! They actually feel more comfortable than when new! That wasnt a misprint, lol! This is one of the easiest things you can do to save big money if your furniture is still nice enough on the outside. I couldnt believe we didnt do this sooner!

Easy to work with and comfortable too!
I bought this foam to fill a couch for my cat. It arrived quickly and, though not strictly easy to cut, behaved predictably for the cutting process. The foam held its shape for the cutting and assembly process, and was easy to pack into the casing to secure a full and stable seat. It has some give to it, good for folding into shape, but not so much that it collapses with any weight put onto it. We were also able to use this foam to seal up a gap in the window left by an A/C unit which did not come with an appropriately sized window shield. It was the perfect depth to fill the window crack and prevent hot air and bugs from slipping in. I did notice that pieces of foam removed from the protective roll did have a tendency to become slightly yellowed but as most pieces are going inside other things I am not too concerned about that. It has held its shape well through a good deal of use and I have plenty left to make more couches or use for any other craft I see fit.

Use a band saw for professional cutting of foam...
FoamTouch Upholstery Foam Cushion High Density 2" x 24" Width x 120" This high density foam is perfect for reupholstering kitchen/dining room chairs. It's only slighty heavier than standard foam, but more comfortable to sit on and is excellent quality. While you can cut it with scissors, kitchen knife, utility knife, saber saw, jig saw, etc, the best way is to use a foam saw (sold by Amazon) OR a band saw. Simply mark the outline with a magic marker and push into the band saw blade slowly -- it cuts VERY easily (keep your fingers out of the way). If you don't own a band saw, ask a friend who owns one -- it only takes a few minutes per seat cushion to cut along an outline. A foam or band saw will make a perfectly square cut, as opposed to scissors/knife leaving a jagged edge.

Fabulous material to make your own box cushions!
I recently recycled a bunch of old wicker furniture and decided to make up my own box cushions for them. I used Foam Touch Upholstery Foam for all of them, and the cushions turned out great. The foam is soft and comfortable to sit on, but it is firm enough to offer good support and it resumes its shape very quickly. It's also super easy to use: simply mark the shape you need for your cushions on the foam in marker pen, then use an electric knife to cut through the material for clean edges and a professional look. I made all my cushions with rounded corners and to cut the foam to match the shape was a breeze!

Great value, may need to help it expand.
I got a Home Depot day bed for a deck cabana that came with pitifully thin cushions. Custom cushions were expensive. I needed two 2’ x 5’ foam pieces to put under them and this was by far the most economical choice. It comes pretty compact and one end did not want to expand. I used the blower end of my shop vac and ran it along the sides and it popped right into shape. I then used a serrated knife to easily cut in half. It totally transformed my cabana to be one of the most comfortable spots of our house. will be encasing with some good outdoor fabric and will still spend so much less. Since they are outdoors under a roof I am unable to detect any odor. Great value and good but know that you may need to run a blower (a hair dryer on cold may be able to do it) along the 4” sides to get it to fully expand.

Bought 1" x 24" x 10ft roll; using a 1" layer for extra cushion on my office chair - It's GREAT !!!
I cut a piece 20"x24" and put it on top of the seat of my almost perfect office chair. And I placed a medium size bath towel on top of that, to keep the foam clean. The foam has a perfect texture, it creates a perfect friction grip against both the vinyl cover of my chair seat and the towel I placed on top of it. No need to do anything else. Using this 1" layer of extra foam on my chair is 100% perfect to give my chair that extra bit of comfort for sitting long days when I'm working remotely. And it's not "memory foam", so it does not retain your butt shape from sitting, which makes it easier to reposition your butt when you adjust position during the day. I've worked with many kinds of foam for projects in the past, and I am very pleased with this. This foam does not smell (it's got only the very faintest order, and only when you hold it to your nose and sniff deeply; and it's a completely unobtrusive scent). It's got a nice texture, it's resilient, it's a nice color, it comes perfectly boxed - no wrapping or shipping damage. I chose the 1" foam, so I could double it if I wanted to, but use only 1" if I wanted to. So far, I'm only using a single 1" layer. My roll is 10ft long (120 inches), so the size pieces I cut (20" x 24") give me 6 pieces from one roll, if I might need to replace my piece later. This foam was exactly what I was looking for - I am very pleased. Highly recommended!
