Solid wooden trains. Well made and magnets seem strong enough. Great for just about any age that loves trains. My son is especially looking forward to painting them himself!

These are beautifully made of very good wood. I have sorted several sets, and every one has been excellent. The excellent construction of the cars and the very good wood means it works great to decorate them in so many different ways!'You do not need to paint them, and I bought more sets when I realized that! They would be GREAT for parties and other situations where people have maybe 30 to 45 minutes to decorate one and take it home. Great party favor that for one car, costs the host $2.50 per person, plus whatever accessories they provide for decorating. I'm allergic to the whole wide world! One thing I've found that I love to do to decorate a train car is find some decorative red wooden hearts or letters or any number of other things. There are very strong-stick foam dots that will raise that wooden image up a bit and make it stick great! I am seeing why trains are so popular! I don't want train tracks, but these cars, like some others I have bought already painted, and attach to each other magnetically whenever you get them into the right position. So I can put 2,3, 4, or even more together and pose them in various places. Great fun!

We paired these with paint pens for my son's 5th birthday party. The kids had so much fun! Build quality is great. They roll well and the wood is smooth. Paint went on easily.
