When it comes to holidays, I try to find gifts that are different. What do you buy a dad that has everything? I thought a bit about it, and remembered that my dad's Chinese zodiac is the dragon. I had found this little dragon crystal at a yard sale a few weeks prior that unfortunately didn't have the LED base, so I turned to trusty ol' Amazon. When he was given his gift, I could tell he was expecting something such as a belt, shoes, wallet, cologne, tools -- the usual. When he pulled everything out of the gift bag, the look on his face "lit up" with a similar intensity that this LED base provides. When we finally set it up and plugged everything in, he was absolutely ecstatic. He loved it! About the base itself: This LED base is very bright, but the intensity can be changed with the remote, so that it's not blinding. It comes with 24 different options including the brightness increase and decrease buttons, the on and off buttons, and 20 color/variation settings. Most of these options though only seem to be accessible from the remote, so you'll be missing out on a lot of features if the remote doesn't work. This was one of my concerns, because some other reviews for this product or similar ones, mention that there is a chance that the remote can arrive broken. However, everything works perfectly on both bases for me, so no complaints here. The sturdiness of the base is decent, not high quality and not terrible, but acceptable. The base even has an on/off switch on the power cord. The remote is made from a light-weight plastic. It's a manageable size with very responsive buttons. The remote also comes with batteries already plugged into it, which is very courteous of the manufacturer. However, because the remote is a light-weight, thin plastic it doesn't seem too sturdy, but I'm not too concerned about it. Unless you're subjecting the base or remote to taxing conditions, it should be just fine. If you want to use a wall socket, you will need a USB type A plug, because the power cord on the base only has a male USB end, which can be plugged into other things, like a computer. Using a wall socket wasn't an issue for me, since I had a USB type A plug from an old tablet just laying around. The only thing I didn't like is that the remote comes with that chemical smell that a lot of new, cheap plastics have, so I'm going to clean it off and allow some time for the smell to dissipate. Other than that, it's a great product that has a decent amount of quality and options for a great price. It works flawlessly for what it's worth, and as long as my dad is happy, I'm happy.

Super bright!! and the brightness is adjustable, but the remote was weird about adjusting brightness. like it changed colors effortlessly but took a moment to lower brightness. That's my only small gripe, otherwise, the product was exactly as advertised! Fast shipping, everything was packaged neatly, and it is well-made and works near perfectly! I have a selenite tower and other crystals resting on it and WOW!! So pretty, perfect light show for my room.

PRO's: - Great little base light; manufacturer's specs are accurate; - SUPER BRIGHT (also a con as the dimmer is still really bright); - Remotes work best if you don't have something on top of the light when using them; - The remotes are what sell these as they have versatility. CONS: - **NO MEMORY** If you have a timer, guess what? This is gonna start flashing every time it has power. - Dimmer — Colors lose their intensity as you dim them out. Red becomes pink, etc. (Lacks True-tone) - SUPER BRIGHT: Would like something a little dimmer, but it has a decent range and I'm probably being picky here. NOTES: - USB Power cord; no remote on the cord, so don't lose your remotes (mine came with 2 remotes); - No rotation on these in case you missed that. - They do NOT get warm; I wouldn't expect a fire. - Cords are about 3' (1m) long. - They do a good job. Just so annoying that they don't remember my last setting.

I searched a long time to locate a base light for displaying a stained glass angel. I wanted multiple colors, with a slow fade option. This light has it all - brightness options, both white light and many colors, with the ability to choose one or rotate through all colors. It came in a 2-pack, which almost turned me off as I only needed one. But for the price, this was a perfect choice. I now have one light to give and one to keep. That’s because the package included 2 remote controls instead of just one that many 2-light packs have. Remote control batteries are included … as are cords for USB-powered light bases. All that was not included were power plugs for USB, but most people would already have extras.

These work great and have been holding up great and are really nice that they come with a remote. They are the perfect size to display things on without working about easily knocking it off. They are plug and play but you will need your own power block.

I received the crystal ball as a gift with a simple stand. This is a big improvement! More colors and remote makes on/off easy. The colors are clear and beautiful. It enhances the beauty of the design. I’ve had it for a while without any problems. Good value for the price.

I like the brightness and all the features of colors/changing colors. Makes my "bubbly" crystal ball look much better than it did with the older halogen base under it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it doesn't remember your settings when you power it off/on. Always reverts back to the 4 basic colors fading in and out. We have these on a light switch to turn them on/off easily. With this base I have to use the remote every time I turn it on to set it back to solid white. Which brings me to the 2nd reason for 4 stars- the remote is tough to use. You have to point it straight at the base and be within 1 foot of it. Can't do it from across the room at all.
