Electric Pill Crusher Grinder

I read so many reviews on all the electric pill cutters & there were a lot of negatives. I need to crush pills 4-5 times a day. I use the screw top grinder which does not get them smooth enough. The mortar & pestal which works but crushed meds remain on the pestal in the mortar so get on my thumb or brush to get the rest out. Now I tried this electric model. It does grind the pills quickly. NOTE: for those who wrote there is powder everywhere, it says run for 45 seconds at a time. You get powder when you are running it too long a once. The pills crush quickly so you do not need to keep it running. I did find that powder remained on the top plastic cover & inside the walls of the machine. I use the brush (if you did not get a brush someone took it-you need it) to wipe the inside of the plastic top & the inside of the metal cutting machine. However, almost nothing comes off of the brush for those who are upset they are not getting all Of their meds. This grinds well enough for people that are using GI(Gastroenology tubes). But , for me some meds still need to be crushed to a finer powder so I use the pestal from my mortar kit. I also do not get everything from all the meds ie the powder in the air, powder on the brush or powder in the cutter). That was my result. I am going to keep this & use it when I have more meds at one time to crush & for large diabetic pills. Also, I do think this is an expensive gadget.

This is a pill pulverizer!! It pulverizes most pills into almost dust. There are a few little tiny pieces left of some pills but not many.

Update…bad rubber seal. It came off without me knowing it and dropped into the container. When I crushed the pills, it also pulverized the seal taking a piece off and breaking it. I had to throw away about 7 pills. I wish I could just replace the rubber seal because it still works; unfortunately the powdered pills escape and make a mess on outside and onto the counter losing some of the medication. Unfortunately, I recommend not buying this product which is a shame because it does a great job otherwise. I don’t usually write reviews, but I wanted to help others who may be having trouble with their electric pill crusher. I was so looking forward to this. Recently my husband got a peg tube and I had to crush multiple pills in a manual crusher. Many were difficult to crush and took lots of effort. When I first tried the electric pull crusher, it worked and I was so happy. However, I went to use it again, and it wouldn’t work. I unplugged it, took off the lids, tried again, and nothing. I became frustrated and walked away, trying it again later. This time it worked. I thought maybe there was a short in it. When I went to use it again the following morning it wouldn’t work. I took it apart and put it back together, and tried again. Nothing happened. I was about to return it and get a refund, but thought I’d try it again later. This time it worked. Hmmm….after trial and error, I found that when I push down on the middle of the lid with my palm, it won’t work, but if I push down towards the back of the lid, it works.

Not bad or above and beyond. But it crushes almost to a powder. 90% does come to a powder. 10% remains as a coarse sandy consistency. Shaking the crusher a bit helps to pulverize the pills. It even has a cloud when opening. But as with all circulating blades, they can't reach the outer corners of the cylinder. We'll see how long the blades stay sharp. The one downside is that the gasket, which is supposed to contain the powder and cloud within the cylinder, is not as snug as it should be. Some of the powder spills out around the outer chamber of the SS cylinder. That may be good, as it suggests a finely crushed outcome? Also, these modern-day electric cords are stiff, and once they get a memory, they are difficult to get to flex nicely. A safe purchase. Mix with hot liquid and a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. Salt also covers up the nasty taste of meds. Bon appetite.

This pill grinder works great. I put one tylonal in it and it turned it to dust. It say not to fill it over 2/3 full. That would be a lot of pills. We are doing 10-15 pill at a time and it works great. Doesn’t even take 30 seconds to be ground completely. It will even grind up capsules Thank you this helped us so much.

The cord is a bit too short and tends to slide out of the machine at any given time. But, it is not a showstopper. I have to buy another one because the rubber band around the lid snapped and broke! Also, the plastic lid became frayed around the edges, leading me to wonder...where did the plastic go? It was obviously chipped off and that was scary. I noticed most of the electric pill crushers have this same design. So, I may buy this particular one again. Still thinking about it.

This product was purchased to save our hands from having to crush our patients pills with a twisting hand grinder. Our hands were beginning to hurt since they recieve medication around-the-clock, and twice a day it took 30 minutes (minimally) to grind up the numerous medications they needed. -- This product is DURABLE! It can handle a -lot- of tablets at once. Even the notoriously difficult Calcium tablets were no match for it. It GRINDS THE TABLETS TO A FINE POWER WITHIN SECONDS! -- It is a little loud. But it DOES ITS JOB GREAT! -- Note: It is -not- water submersible, nor can you put liquids (medication and/or water) inside it. So plan to use a cleaning cloth, rinsing cloth, and drying cloth. This would however be less troublesome than hurting hands and wasting 30 minutes to grind up the medication. Worth it! -- RECOMMENDED!

With minimal uses, say three pills ,they only can be used a couple of times then they stop working and are broken. They chomp up the pills, but to get only a few uses is ridiculous, we need them to work every day.

Great product. Does what it says. One issue is the rubber seal comes off after many uses.

No puedo opinar por otros clientes son necesidades personales o para familiares. Yo busqué el producto por enfermedad de un paciente y para poder administrar los medicamentos a travéz de líquidos. Para mí era lo que necesitaba para mi paciente. El producto está excelente de buena calidad sólo acostumbrase uno a utilizarlo muy práctico.
