The Only Protein Powder I’ll Drink!
Back in 2018, when I went keto for the first time, I wanted to avoid whey—and this quickly became the only protein powder I’d actually drink. The Ancient Cacao (or “chocolate” for the rest of us) has a smooth, rich chocolatey flavor that doesn’t taste artificial or overly sweet. I love knowing I’m not putting chemicals, fillers, or unnecessary additives into my body. If you’re looking to increase your protein without all the extra junk, this is absolutely the powder to get. I also buy the Plain Naked version and mix it with coffee for an afternoon iced coffee that’s packed with clean protein. Simple, delicious, and exactly what I need to stay on track.

Good flavor, not chalky
I love the flavor. It is not chalky. It mixes well in my shaker cup. I also appreciate that it is not full of fillers and misc ingredients. I have purchased this 3 times now. It is my go to breakfast.

Doesn't taste weird
I quite like this, maybe even love it. It's quite sweet, so I often combine one scoop with a bowl of chia for breakfast (can also add in nut butter, coconut cream, or whatever), or supplement it with a scoop of unsweetened Sprout Living Epic Protein powder. But on its own in a blender with ice and coconut cream, it tastes like a creamy milkshake-- it feels a little like cheating it's that yummy. The monkfruit doesn't taste slimy to me like monkfruit sometimes does. I don't know that drinking one's calories is necessarily the best thing in the long run (it's not as satisfying), but if one is going to do so (or for an easy snack), this has more variety in its ingredients than many single-ingredient protein or collagen powders (it's not often that you see this many different ground up animal parts...) and is pretty yummy and versatile stuff.

Great protein powder, but a bit overpriced.
Overall this is a great product. The taste is great, the ingredients list is short and clean, and the addition of organ meat powders fits my “ketovore” diet that I stick to when cutting or focusing on lean muscle development. Taste: both the vanilla and the ancient cocoa flavors are good, but as some have noted - it’s VERY sweet due to the Monk Fruit. The easy solution is to put a quarter cup of whole milk Greek yogurt (if you’re unfamiliar - it tastes like sour cream). It adds ~5g of protein, only ~1.5G carbs, and takes the edge off the sweetness - all while smoothing the texture and supporting gut health. My mix (see picture): I mix this powder in a shaker bottle with 4oz raw milk, 4oz of water, 1/4 cup of Greek Yogurt, 5mg Creatine Monohydrate. Great results and great taste. No complaints there. Cons: The price. $42 for 15 servings adds up quickly if you’re a daily/muti-daily protein drinker. I’m once per day for breakfast after my workout. Results really have been amazing. No bloating, hunger is satisfied until lunch, and muscle recovery and energy level is notably better than any protein I’ve used - but it comes with a comparatively hefty price tag. Packaging: in short, it’s garbage. You can see by my included photo that it’s been moved to a jar for storage. The bag it comes in has a “ziplock” style seal…however every bag I’ve purchased has had protein so heavily caked into the groves it renders the seal completely inoperable (even tried to free it up with an unused tooth brush on the first bag…said screw it and tossed in one of my wife’s spare containers). At this price - put it in a screw-top tub. No excuse for that IMO. Summary: Overall a great powder. -1 Star for price and packaging…but if the price tag isn't an issue for your budget, I highly recommend.

Get it!!! Just do it!!!
This stuff is AWESOME!!! Tast is spot on with no odd after taste you get from stevia or sucralose (which is deadly garbage that causes cancer). Monk fruit to the rescue! Ingredients are what a carnivore needs. It mixes smoothly so no chunky shake mix. Protein is quality and doesn't bother my stomach like all the other stuff I have tried.

Horrible taste
I love the ingredients in this and had high expectations as I love this brand’s other proteins but the taste is very hard to overcome on this one. I tried it with fruit and sweeteners to try and help but it was still awful.

The BEST low ingredient bone broth / protein powder
I found this when I first started the Carnivore diet and was looking for a low ingredient, bone broth powder. I am not on that diet anymore but have continued using this almost daily. Its wonderful! I have tried the chocolate as well, but personally, I think the vanilla is the best. You can mix it with water or milk , but you will need to shake it up REALLY well. I recommend adding ice cubes to a shaker bottle to help break up any chunks. But the best way to drink this as a shake; add one scoop to a blender with milk, frozen banana, and a little pumpkin puree and you wont believe how delicious it is! If you are someone, like me, who definitely does not consume enough protein / animal products, this is the way to go. It tastes good, packed with amazing NATURAL ingredients like collogen, and is free of all chemicals unlike the store bought protein powders. Organs are so incredibly good for you, but not as pleasant to eat so this is a great way to still get those nutrients!
