Amazing value. Top Notch setup.
This is my first violin, and as such I did a lot of research on what I should get. I watched the Ray Chen video on how he bought all the Amazon violins and reviewed them, and this violin was the first one he said didn't sound like trash, and at the end he said this was probably the best value, as the instrument sounds good and the next one up was like $600 or something. This says it's a "clearance" violin which means it has cosmetic defects but I have to say, I am hard pressed to find anything wrong with it at all. You have to look REALLY hard. I looked it up and down and couldn't find anything. Then I finally found it, a TINY spot where the varnish is a bit off on the bottom and an almost microscopic dot near the edge of the violin in one area. Absolutely amazing. No one will ever know there's anything off about its cosmetics. The violin was perfected tuned when I received it, and played beautifully. Thankfully I was able to get a good sound out of it on my first try. It sounds beautiful. If you're thinking of a first violin I would definitely get this one as you can't beat the price and it's great. When it comes to the bow I think it's a good bow. I don't know anything about violin playing or bows, but I can tell you that it makes a beautiful sound, which I would say means the bow is good. A bad bow will not make a beautiful sound. Also a tip-- I don't think mine was rosined. When you look at the bow, if it's off-white (kind of yellowish color) this means that it's not rosined. When you rosin the bow the horse hair should look white. So if you're doesn't look white.. I dunno the checklist said that they rosined the bow, maybe their rosin was yellow LOL but just a quick tip, as if the bow doesn't have rosin on it, it won't sound good or at all.

Good Purchase... package warning.
FIRST off packaging, including a WARNING: The violin was extremely well packed for safety during the shipping process. Received completely undamaged and if great condition. I bought this in November as a Christmas gift for my daughter. Amazon shipped it in it's original box which has GIANT letters that spell VIOLIN along the side of it. My daughter retrieved the mail therefore ruining the surprise of her Christmas gift. I'll admit I cried for hours because it is the only gift I have for her and was excited for her to open it Christmas morning. So PLEASE be warned, IF this is a GIFT, make alternative shipping arrangements (perhaps to a relative's house) in order to keep the surprise. VIOLIN: I did not know what to expect and was nervous buying this violin. I am not knowledgeable about violins. This is the first violin in have bought for my daughter. She was previously using a Mendini that the school provided for her. That violin proved difficult for her to learn on since (as noted in many reviews) it has to be tuned every 10 minutes. Her teacher spent a lot of time tuning before he could teach. This violin DOES NOT come with a shoulder rest. IF there are any cosmetic flaws, I cannot find them. There ISN'T any varnish under the neck of the violin. If you're a newbie like me this may surprise you; however it's pretty standard not to have varnish there. The case is beautiful. Really high quality especially considering that it's a student violin where many would short change the quality of the case. I gave the violin to my daughter's teacher to give it a look over and to make certain that it was a good violin. The only thing that he found was that the bridge was too high which I guess affects the quality of the sound and/or playing ability (not exactly sure). He swapped the bridge out with a new one. He was also kind enough to add the stickers and ordered her a shoulder rest. In his estimation this is a good violin and perfect for her. He believes it should last her until she's ready to move up to the next level (as her skills improve). OVERALL IMPRESSION: A+, I would RECOMMEND this Violin for your student's need. Don't be nervous like I was and afraid you might be making a bad choice if you're a newbie. I DID NOT receive any kind of promotional discount or free product for this review. I paid full price just like those of you reading this. If you found this helpful please click the link saying so. Thanks. 🙂

Perfect quality honestly, right out of the case sounds amazing, barely needing any tuning. the bow was already rosined, the sound is loud and clear, the shoulder rest is comfortable and fits nicely, it does exactly what you need it to
