I got the 16 pund vest and have only worn this twice so far: once to the gym for a workout with my personal trainer. Oh boy, did I sweat! The vest is very comfortable for my female frame, and I can tighten it up so it does not "dangle" and pull when planking, doing push-ups, or pull-ups using a TRX suspension trainer. The two straps are perfectly placed for comfort and fit. There is no swinging or shifting of the vest while wearing it. Those who complain about it cutting into their shoulders should be more specific: Of course it adds weight to the shoulders, and you feel it. But, it doesn't "cut" into my shoulders at all. My previous and lighter vest was the same way until I got used to wearing the vest. The padding in the shoulder area is perfect, preventing cutting into the shoulders. Also, of course it is going to be bulky - there is 16 pounds of weights/padding in this vest. No way that it won't be bulky. But, it is still streamlined compared to some other vests, especially those with solid weight bars. I wore it while pushing my 180 pound muscular trainer and 90 pound of plates on a sled. What a work out!I can't wait to wear this while hiking with my dog, which is when I usually wear a weighted vest - for an extra workout that helps me burn calories, strengthen my core, and improve my posture.

Perfect for adding a little more to my workout! I wanted to buy a weighted vest that was being sold at my gym but it was expensive and looked like it wouldn’t tighten as much as I’d like since I’m petite. I looked around for awhile for the best option and though this doesn’t go as high as I’d like for weight, it is perfect for a petite person (5’2” and 106lbs) like me. I have started at 12lbs so I definitely have some weight I can still add as I want which is nice. I keep one side clipped at all times so it makes for an easy on and off just having to clip the two clips on one side. It’s easy to tighten and does get really tight!! It’s also isn’t as restricting as the other vests I’ve seen and the ones at my gym. I’m very glad I bought this one!

Great way to up the intensity of any workout. Love that you can add additional weights.

PROS: I originally bought one of "the other vests" (made in China, no removable weights, closes in the front), but the weight pellets put off a nasty chemical odor which got even worse when I warmed up from working out. One hour's use gave me a headache that took a day to get over, and it made my clothes smell just as bad. "The other vests" also got *lots* of bad reviews for seams splitting and sand spilling out. This vest has no smell so far. In addition, it has six removable one-pound pouches, each in its own pocket, held in by velcro closures, that allows you to adjust the weight as needed. The 16-pound vest, with all the pouches removed, weighs 10 pounds, which is a good starting weight for me. This vest seems well-made, and I'm guessing the 'double pouch' system it uses will be much less likely to leak than "the other vests," in which one layer of fabric and one seam in each section has to support all the weight. Finally, this vest has a velcro pocket in the middle of the front which is easy to get to. It's about 3" x 6", just barely big enough for my 3" x 5" cell phone. I think the pocket on "the other vest" is on the back, so you need to take the vest off to get to it. CONS: I gave it only four stars because it's trickier to put on than "the other vest." The neck opening has to go over the head, which inevitably knocks off my glasses and grabs my long hair and pins it to my shoulders. It also has four clips, two under each arm, that are a little tricky to buckle and adjust. "The other vest" clips in the front (2 clips), which makes it easier for me to put on and take off. To me, it's worth a little trouble putting it on to avoid the nasty smell and headaches. And I love that I can adjust the weight as my fitness increases and/or depending on the activity.

Great product! Very comfortable! Take my advice and pay the tiny bit extra for the shoulder padding! It’s worth saving your shoulders!
