Nice and sharp, folds up compactly. Did a great job cutting out the carpet from my sunroom when my utility knife was struggling.

As a single person with cats, I needed to get a very large old wool rug with a thick pile out from under my bed. I could not maneuver it myself whole so ordered this. It made cutting the rug into long strips very easy and I was able, by myself, to get the job done. I was thrilled!

Excellent knife that adds a bit of safety thanks to its ability to fold closed. The locking mechanism is fairly stiff when opening and closing, which should loosen up over time, though mine is still tight. I haven’t added any oil to the pivot yet, and that may be all it needs. The handle and blade holder are heavy-duty and feel very robust. Based on the solid construction, this knife should hold up well and last a long time.

I'm no pro, so can't judge compared to other carpet knives, but this is MUCH better than using a utility knife to cut carpet. I was concerned after stretching (first time using a stretcher too) that I'd cut off too much, or cut it uneven. I DID mess up a bit, but would have done better if took my time - where I cut too much, I was able to stretch it out (probably better/tighter). Whether or not if ergonomic, it's easy to hold it firm so it doesn't wander when cutting. Blade held up too.. can switch it around and use 4 cutting edges. If doing carpet, buy one of these.

This knife was so great for me when I was removing the carpet and pad from a bedroom. It is so sharp, and it is not just straight. It has an angle which worked well for me. It comes with extra blades and they are very easy to change out. I am 65 yo woman and this made the job possible for me to do it by myself. Good buy. I will make sure I have replacement blades for this because I know it will have many other uses around the home.

I like that it won't cut me when it's closed. It's not my main knife but it works for trips to the carpet store to cut my materials. Seems to be a sturdy tool.

I would like to give this knife five stars, but the piece of metal that hold the blade in place broke the second time I changed the blade. The piece of metal has two ears and one broke, so it won't hold unless I put electrical tape around it. I expect this is just a manufacturing defect and most won't have this problem. It has the most safety features in the design than any other carpet knife I have ever seen, and it feels great in the hands.
