This book is must reading for strategic planning of your business. Excellent insights and real-life examples of how David Finkel has helped business owners get a handle on their business and maximize their potential without stretching them beyond their limits. If you’ve ever felt you can’t give any more to your business than you already do, this is the book for you. My key takeaway was learning how to identify my fewer, better activities to devote my time and attention to in order to get maximum results. You identify those activities with the tools provided in the book with step by step instructions. The chapters on becoming a better coach and growing your leaders are also must reads for any organization.

As an owner of a successfully growing 12 year old business I so appreciated reading about the clear applicable steps other business owners are using to gain greater business freedom. As my business has grown and the initial success buzz has cleared a little, I've noticed how consuming the business has become. David understands how that happens and has trained many to do what I had no game plan for. Continue to capitalize on the businesses potential while reducing the business owner dependence. It's worth reading for the benefit of your team and those that are missing out of being with you while your work demands their you time.

I started my first business when my oldest was 2 years old. At the time, I thought I had a good idea of how to achieve a work-life balance. I was making 2M a year and brought my kids to the office and to meetings. I thought I had this Mom CEO thing down. 10 years and 2 kids later, I can honestly say that I wish I would have done it differently. David’s explanation of the time-value matrix makes so much sense, and really hits home the idea that working harder and longer hours isn’t the way to grow a business. This book is full of concrete ideas and tools that you can start using right away to change the way you use your time and energy. The Freedom Formula is a great read! And I am pumped to start implementing David’s ideas in my business.

Well it looks like David Finkel, the author of Scale has done it again. I'm recommending The Freedom Formula for any business owner who is feeling tapped out, burnt out and wondering if they will spend the rest of their lives feeling chained to their business. In this book, Finkel explains how to breakthrough the patterns and habits that keep business owners tied to their business like a ball and chain and find time you didn't even know you had so that you can not only be more productive in less time, but start to feel like you have a life again. This is the blueprint for Freedom and I imagine that the husbands, wives, girlfriends and boyfriends of entrepreneurs and business owners will be thanking David Finkel for teaching their loved ones how to run their businesses without giving up their lives in the process. I've been a business owner for over 20 years. What really resonated with me, was reading about other business owners, who have faced the same issues of burn-out that I have. I've had too many 80-hour work weeks. I've had times where I have worked for weeks on end without seeing my family. I realize now from reading that I was simply trading time for money, when I should have been exchanging value for success. In the book it states you can understand many concepts to gain freedom in your business, but do you actually apply them. It then goes into step-by-step methods to accomplish the concepts with action plans, which I found to be valuable.
