The last lid I had the plastic piece broke so I got this one that didn't have that extra piece. This fits and so the lid works well. When you put it on, be careful that it is tucked into the jar all the way around. When you do that it doesn't leak.

Never used the hole in the old one. The old one fell apart… this was a good replacement. Did not overpromise. Can’t fault it for a thing.
