Best of Terry Kimbrough Baby Afghans-24 Sweet Wraps are Just Right for a Special Infant Review: Great Baby Afghan Patterns - Beautiful patterns and easy to follow instructions! Review: Perfect! Expanded version of my memory - I first bought the paper booklet of these patterns, and there were five or six. I made Storytime and Sweet Dreams. Lost the booklet. Now expecting my third grandbaby, and I couldn't settle into a pattern. My first two grandchildren received granny squares out of Red Heart Super Saver. But I remembered the first pattern I ever worked, now more than twenty years ago, and I wanted to make it. Back then, it was so hard! I understood nothing, I clung to the pattern, I obsessed over yarn and hooks. Now, I looked at the picture, and I've got it. Simple, beautiful. All the other patterns are just as lovely! You couldn't go wrong with any of them. My tips: pick the best yarn you can, something soft and machine washable. Use a hook appropriate for the yarn, and consider your preference. I love in-line hooks, and use them almost exclusively. But this time, my hook is an old Boye out-line. And I've worked my first 10 rows in three hours, including dithering about my gauge. Because this hook gives me gauge, and that counts, even for an afghan. Terry Kimbrough has provided beautiful patterns in this book. Seemingly complex, but I was successful twenty years ago with no experience, so anyone can make these! Well written patterns and great photography.

Worth it just for "Sweet Dreams" baby blanket!
My daughter learned to crochet and did her own thing but really didn't learn how to follow a pattern correctly. So since I wanted her to be able to learn some nice patterns, I sat down with her to pick out a baby blanket pattern (being pregnant at the time). I browsed Ravelry for a baby blanket to make and found the gorgeous "Sweet Dreams" pattern. I have to say, after doing this pattern I am a HUGE fan of Terry Kimbrough. It turned out just simply gorgeous and it was fun and easy. With a little bit of help from a Ravelry board discussing the pattern, I was able to figure it out and it is now stunningly finished! Yay! I had done some simple crocheting before but the thing I loved about this pattern is that it was easy to follow and if you made an incorrect stitch, right off the bat you noticed it in the next row. I highly recommend this book JUST for that pattern... it's the prettiest in there, it's great for an advanced beginner, and it will really help you to become the crocheter you should be! :D

I love these designs, so pretty. I will be so delighted to make these for my loved ones. The large and elaborate borders distinguish this book from all the others.
