A First Poetry Book

What a wacky poet fest this book is. I found the peotry a little old for my four year old to understand and we found the prose a little odd to say the least. made us oldies laugh a little though and caused some questioning amongst us.

I’m delighted with this purchase. My 6 year old hasn’t put it down since it arrived. There’s a great variety of rhyming and non-rhyming poems, as well as acrostics and caligrammes that’s make pictures on the page. The topics of the poems are spot on for her interests too,

Good informal approach for little learners. Children these days are so well catered for. Not like the poetry I had to learn as punishments!

My granddaughters first introduction to poetry. She enjoyed the book.
