The pages have a creamy color and have a good thickness (not too thick). In spite of it's intended use, I use it as a writing tablet. There is no ink or letter impression on the back of page. A personal or personal business (not professional business) letter can be composed using pages, which can be cut to reflect varied measurements.

I bought this gift for a 4-year-old's birthday, and even with lots of other great toys around with her favorite Disney characters on them, this was by far the biggest hit. The light-up stamps captivated her, though her favorite thing to do was combine all the colors on a single stamp before actually place it to paper! With little children, more is more, so naturally ALL THE COLORS would be preferred to one. But since there is no mess for the parents (only a clear ink that works exclusively with the Color Magic paper), you can feel free to let little one indulge in color mixology to their heart's content. Of course, they cannot see the mixing until they put stamp (or fingerprint) to paper. She also loved the interchangeability of the stamps- how many different options of creatures there were to stamp on the pages. This kit came with 3 color wonder markers, but she barely noticed them with all of the stamping excitement. I'm sure they'll get more use in future sessions.

The paper is nice and neat in a bound tablet. The back cover could be made with a thicker card board. The one it has is thin and flimsy making is difficult for kids to use holding on lap in the car or chair.
