Works Well and Accurate
I use humidity sensors in terrariums. With high humidity sensors will raise the humidity as much as 10% in only a few months. For me accuracy is very important. The Boveda calibration kit worked very well for me bringing the calibration within 1% of the 75% target. I especially like the size as I can calibrate more than one sensor at a time. Depending on the size of your sensors they will fit 2 or more. This best part is the accuracy and ease of use.

The Best Possible Way to Calibrate a Hygrometer.
Prior to becoming aware of Boveda products, I attempted to calibrate my three digital hygrometers (one Diamond Crown and two Xikars) using the 24 hour "salt test." I repeated this test on four different occasions and each hygrometer had a different reading after each one. I used the same sized ziplock bag and tried to create the same salt>water ratio each time but got different results despite this. This experience indicates to me that when performing the salt test at home with a ziplock bag, the humidity inside the bag varies depending on the ratio of salt to water in your particular mixture, which creates a different reading for each test and thus, no usable baseline for calibration. This is just a hypothesis based on my experience. After my lack of success with the salt test method I ran across the Boveda One-Step Hygrometer Calibration Kit and promptly ordered it. With this item there is no guesswork or struggle involved. Boveda has already done the work for you in creating a packet, which emits EXACTLY 75.5% humidity. All you have to do is stick your hygrometers in the bag, wait 24 hours and you have a precise result, which tells you definitively how accurate your hygrometer is. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my precious (and expensive) cigars inside my new humidor without knowing the humidity level inside. This is a great product and is infinitely preferable to the salt test; highly recommended. Thanks Boveda.

Definitely Worth the Money
I bought two hygrometers to keep some expensive musical instruments at the proper humidity. The problem was that the hygrometers gave slightly different readings. I did the salt test and that wasn't as conclusive as I wanted. So I bought this test kit. I am glad that I did. The Boveda test kit confirmed that one of the hygrometers wasn't working correctly. The manufacturer sent me a new one free of charge as soon as I mentioned that I had used the Boveda test. The only thing that I wouid mention is that the bag that comes with it is small. My hygrometer fit, but something larger might not. I don't see why the little pouch that contains the chemicals wouldn't work just as well in a larger bag....but what do I know? Maybe this test pouch is designed to work with the smaller bag only. Take that size of the hygrometer that you want to test into consideration before buying to make sure it will fit the outer sealing pouch, or ask Boveda if you have to use their small sealing bag to make the test work.

The included air-tight bag is too small for many hygrometers
I bought an AcuRite 01080M Pro hygrometer. Unfortunately, the air tight bag that Boveda provides is too small to fit one of these inside. For the price, I think Boveda should provide a larger bag and a larger 75 RH pack to accommodate calibrating larger hygrometers.

Great way to calibrate humidity sensors
I bought a pack of like two dozen of the humidity/temperature sensors on Amazon and they varied quite a bit from one to the other which is not good when you trying to regulate humidity for cannabis plants. I bought one of these Boveda calibrated packs and was able to put the percent humidity correction on all of the sensors that I bought using a small piece of freezer tape

Work beautifully and cheap as dirt!
I have been looking for a way to calibrate my various humidity meters and controls without spending $50 on the little calibration bottles that I always see. I finally ran across these and they work perfectly! The bag contains a packet that diffuses moisture to a specific level (75.5%) so you just put your device in there, wait 24-36 hours and check your reading. The one thing to note is that the included bag is quite small, about 5.5" square, and really doesn't fit anything bu the smallest devices. I decided to use a 1 quart Ziplok freezer bag instead which is just a bit larger and will hold any of my devices- Control3 humidity controllers, Wind and Weather stand-alone and remote sensors, etc. The bag is still small enough that the packet won't take forever to diffuse moisture into it. I had steady readings of 75-76% (which makes sense for a 75.5% packet) after 24 hours. All in all for the price this product is miraculous. The packet even claims to last 3 months once it's open. Heck, for the money I'm happy it lasts a week!

I'm in the process of designing a product that measures the temperature and humidity of beehives. There are plenty of temperature sensors on the market that are cheap and accurate, but humidity sensors are generally pretty expensive in comparison and, as I've discovered, wildly inaccurate. Having purchased a sensor that I had some confidence in, I needed to test it. I created my own testbed, with very accurate control of temperature, but I needed a way to accurately define a level of humidity. There are a plethora of YouTube vids on the subject demonstrating how this can be achieved using a home-made salt solution in a bottle cap, but even having purchased some lab-grade sodium chloride and distilled water my results were all over the place. It was while I was doing more research along these lines when I can across some adverts for Boveda products in relation to maintaining the humidity in humidors, a cupboard for cigars. Looking at the Boveda website I discovered that they produce larger product packs for cigars, but also produce smaller packs with high tolerance chemical solutions that can be used for hygrometer (an instrument used for measuring the amount of humidity and water vapour in the atmosphere) calibration and purchased a pack. The Boveda One-Step Hygrometer Calibration Kit allows a high degree of reliability, with a high degree of accuracy simply by placing the hygrometer, or in my case the sensor, in a small airtight container. The kit comes complete with an air-tight plastic bag and the Boveda humidity pack. To use it, you just put the device to be tested in the bad and let the humidity in the bag settle for 12 hours or so, it's as simple as that. In my case, I placed the sensor in a small bag, sealed the bag around the wires from the sensor and placed the whole pack into my chiller. At a consistent 21.5 DegC (+/- 0.3 DegC), I let the sensor soak for a day and then analysed the results. Long story short then, the results where excellent. Incredibly stable humidity results, at exactly the level I was expecting, well within the tolerances stated by Bovida and the sensor I was calibrating during my experiments. I certainly won't be mucking about with salt solutions any more. My only regret is that I've spent a fair amount of money of lab-grade chemicals and that my better half is getting peeved with the 1Kg of salt that's taking up cupboard space. Still, I guess I can use it on my fish & chips?

I calibrated all my hygrometers with this, most importantly the digital one. Worked perfectly.
