Finallly, A Good Cutter
I've been looking for the perfect zip tie cutter for a long time. I've got flush cut pliers that do the job when space is plentiful, but there are a lot of projects where zip ties barely fit, and standard flush cut pliers can't fit into the space. This is where these end nip versions come in - they can access zip ties 90 degrees compared to standard flush cutters, meaning I have a second tool for cutting zip ties if space is an issue. Standard end nippers leave zip ties proud of the surface, and these are flush cutting, so they don't leave that sharp edge behind. I'm sure these work for guitar frets like intended, but I'm using them for zip ties and expect them to last a really long time as a result. Spend the extra money and get a good quality set!

A must have tool for refrets
I've been a StewMAX member for years, meaning I pay extra to get free shipping from Stewart Macdonald's official website. Sometimes I get exclusive deals, but I've NEVER see this item as cheap as it was here on Amazon. I'm sort of disappointed my Amazon Prime membership does better than StewMAX, but this was an item I had on my list for years and never pulled the trigger. It works just as described, and it's helping me a lot with my first fret job. I've been winding pickups for 10 years, and have been doing fret levels for a few years, so doing a refret is my next step. Having the right tools goes a long way, and this seems to be a must-have tool.

Simply the BEST
Why did you pick this product vs others?: From one of the most trusted names in musical instrument maintenance tools...incredible and helpful!

No joke - it's "flush"
I bought a cheaper set and although they worked fine, they didn't get as close as these. That's super important before beveling. If you don't get most of the tang off, you will be beveling for a long time, which increases the chance of damaging the fretboard. They're also pretty hefty, and will be useful cutting other material. Tried on brass and nickel, and went through them with ease. I think a lot of stewmacs products are worth their price, but this one especially stands out for the use cases/lower price tag.

A good fret tang nipper
it cuts very clean and close to to bottom of the fret surface, as it should. Not 100% perfect, but very good. I've been comparing and contrasting these nippers to other older nippers that are very worn, and I can't say they are entirely worth the cost, but SM does offer great customer service if something would fail in the future. That said, my 15year old nippers are still working well, just worn, but they also cost $15 at the time. These new SM nippers to cut stainless tangs a bit easier than my old set, and I had no issues with hand fatigue, but that will be a personal issue. Many folks have commented about getting their hand pinched by these nippers, I have not had that issue, but again that may be a very individual issue depending on hand size and plumpness. Good fretting to you!

"Wer billigt kauft, kauft zweimal."
