Can it squeak by crimping 14awg terminals? Or is there a die I can buy?

This kit will handle 22awg though 16awg. I don't think it will do a good job with 14awg. You can buy kits that will work with larger sizes.

can this crimp over shrink wrap or insulated connector covers without puncturing?

This set is designed to utilize the included brass fittings to crimp both over sections of stripped wire and insulation, then the terminal insulation slides over the connector. The fit is specific to the brass connectors and will cut through shrink wrap or insulated connector covers.
