Bought (Highest Bidder Book 1)

This series set around a sex club, Club X started with Lucian and Dahlia's story and was an entertaining romp. There were a few loose ends which I imagine will be addressed as the series continues.

I loved reading this book. The characters were great and I enjoyed the story.Lucian was a fantastic character. I loved watching his emotions develop as his relationship with Dahlia grew. He is such a considerate Dom, always trying to give her what she needs. I enjoyed watching them slowly open up and seeing him trying to help her with what happened.Dahlia is a good character. She has trauma from her past which she hides from Lucian. Neither of them expected to develop feelings, but they did.They were a good match and the spark between them was on fire. It was nice watching them grow into something real. I just wish we got to see more of them together without the contract. I felt the situation with Lucian’s ex-wife was left unresolved as well.Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and I absolutely loved reading Lucian and Daliah together. Lucian was amazing. I loved the Club X set up, auction concept and characters in this book. Pace was great and it explored some parts of the characters’ story and history. My only comment is that it seemed to finish abruptly as I felt they were just getting in to the relationship and the book ended. I had thought the 4 box set (my bad for not reading ahead on the book descriptions) was all the same characters so was surprised when this first book wrapped up so quickly and I realised it wasn’t going to evolve more in another book. I definitely would have preferred a second book with these characters to continue the journey.

I enjoyed reading this book but I am a little disappointed that there was no conclusion with the situation with Lucien's terrible x- wife. I didn't want to have to buy the next book to know what happen because it is supposed to be a standalone. I hope she is exposed to be the snake that she is and do not cause any grief for Lucien and Dahlia. Having said that, I am happy with the book otherwise. Lucien makes Dahlia happy now. She has been through a lot. Now that awful uncle of her can't hurt anybody else, thanks to Lucien. They both deserve true love after all the hurt they have been through due to family members that should know better. I hope if i choose to buy the other book in the series it doesn't end like this one.

The first book in the Highest Bidder series, and the relationship between Dahlia and Lucian. She's a struggling student/ Intern and he's a CEO Billionaire. An interesting love story between two damaged people, with past's that taint their lives. Some dark areas are touched upon, but overall this is a story of love and passion and finding that special someone in the world who you can trust with your happiness.

I always wonder, when two authors collaborate, if they can pull it off. I've read some, that for me, can't, but, these two did it. Did they ever. My good friend gave me the recommendation, and I'm glad she did. This was a great story, with a taste of BDSM, but nothing too extreme. It was also great to read something that didn't go in to too much depth on the abuse side. This for me had a pair of good strong characters, with some intriguing enough side characters, that you can get to know in the series. Looking forward to reading more from these two, such a great pairing.

The story started off fine. Thirty day Sub/Dom contract. Felt more like it was condensed into a week contract. There was hardly any interaction between the two characters outside of the playroom for them to ever 'fall in love' yet 'yawn' they do...and he wants to put a ring on her finger. After only a month? I could believe it if they went on more dates, for the press or each other, but since they only have the one, at least that we're told about, its hardly believable.As for the claim that this is a stand alone book....hogwash!! If you want to find out what happens with the ex-wife's attempts to blackmail Lucius...surprise, surprise you need to buy the next book. That infuriates me, especially when I chose the book because it promises no cheating and a HEA. I won't be buying the second, third or fourth book in this series. If a book claims to be a 'stand alone' it should end with every sub-story resolved not hanging so you need to buy another book to find out what happens next. That, in my opinion, is CHEATIING your readers. Very disappointing.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.Wow what a great book. The storyline was fantastic and the characters were brilliant. The back ground story's of Dahlia and Lucian were so sad but you understand then why they are like they are. The chemistry between was hot, they were good for each other. The only thing I thought was missing was what happened with the ex wife?? Or is that info in book 2. I can't wait for that book.Loved this book look forward to book two, highly recommend
