Excellent 2k spray paint.

Very happy with results. I’ve used their 2K clear coat product in the past with great success to permanently fix yellowing headlights on my older car so I decided to give this black satin 2K a try for another car part I needed to paint satin black. Well this was just as easy to get professional results. Sprayed about 3 medium coats about 10 minutes apart (cleaned nozzle with mineral spirits after each coat just to prevent issues with splatter) onto a properly primed, prepped and clean abs plastic small auto spoiler. It came out perfect once it all dried out 24hrs later. Feels like a very durable finish. IMPORTANT: Just please make sure you use a true respirator, and not just a cheap face mask in a well ventilated area. These fumes are extremely strong so you the proper fumes filtration of a respirator and some eye goggles. Also be aware you will have black dust to clean up after if you do this if you do it in your open garage for example but it’s just dust and it’s easy to wipe clean with a damp rag or by mopping the floor. I’ll post pictures or a video of the results soon.

Either I got lucky with the second can or adjusting the spray tip helped dramatically with application. The first can I used I did not make any adjustments, just used the setting as it had come. The spray pattern was very very splattery and the cans coverage was not great either. I did some research after using the can, and found the instructions on the website for rotating the cap to create a tighter spray. The second can applied beautifully and I did not even use the whole can, whereas the first can was used up before I completed on full coat (I will try to use the rest of the second can on the part of my piece that has only one coat now). I was very surprised after my negative experience yesterday with the first can, being that this paint came highly recommended, it is german engineering, and the website makes lots of epic promises, but today it seemed to perform the way it was promised. I recommend adjusting the tip if splatter is happening, perhaps these spray nozzles do not perform well when trying to create the maximum spray size.

Very poor quality can for a 2k paint if you don’t get a lucky can. I bought a can that worked great so I bought two more later and another one after that to finish projects. All 3 of the later cans were defective. The first two exploded from the bottom when the button was pressed and the third sprayed everywhere from under the tip (yes it was on fully) and got droplets all over my project from the spray tip. Will never buy this brand again. There’s a reason it’s cheaper than the competitors same products.

My old 2008 Ford Focus has had tremendous fading of the plastic trim pieces and the grille. I have tried various 1K spray paints in the past, and I was not going to use any of them. When I became aware of this 2K spray paint in satin black, I had to try it. Shake the can well before and after introducing the activator. I also placed the can in a cup of hot water to warm the paint. I experienced no splatter and the spray applied beautifully with a perfect satin black finish. I have driven the car and the finish appears durable. Now I have to paint the rest of the car so that it looks new, too!

The satin black finishes nicely. I used this to protect some inner car body panels. Two days later i still had some paint in the can i used it to refinish some strut tower mount/brackets and it performed nearly just as good as new but i think the dry paint in the cap had more to do with the occasional speckles. It still dried up nicely. Prep the surface for best results ofcourse. 24 hour pot life questionable so thats a plus.

More expensive and worth every penny. Projects look so professional
