MW Polar Herring, Smoked in Canola Oil, 6.7-Ounce

These canned herring filets are my new favorite canned fish. Excellent flavor, not fishy at all and with a hint of smokiness - though not overpowering. I like that they’re in canola oil and own juice which has great flavor. Firm enough to not fall apart, yet soft and not chewy. Great on toast, with veggies, with a salad or with other food combinations. Cans are easy to open, but just a bit tricky to completely take the lid off without the oil splashing a bit off the edge of the lid. But doesn’t need to come off entirely to take the fish fillets out. I liked these quite a bit. I wasn’t a fan of the paper ones though, too peppery. But definitely give these oil & own juice ones a try.

I love these I eat them all the time of snacks great taste I will definitely order again and again and again as long as I have money.

This reminded me of some excellent ethnic dishes that were served during Christmas Eve dinner after midnight services!! Of course, this was decades ago and those who kept that event alive are long gone. This herring was actually a treat for me, but one I couldn't have too often. It is far too heavily salted for my restrictions, and the packing canola oil is very unpleasant. For some reason, that oil is very "greasy" and thick. Ugh Although I really like the flavor and the quality of the fillets, I will not be able to be buying too many of these tins.

These smoked herring are my favorite snack or quick meal. They are packed with care and typically contain two fish filets that have been spread apart to grilled and smoked. They are high in protein and omega3's and really great if you are on a low carb or no carb diet because they are very satisfying and have a delicious authentic smoke flavor. The one thing I would prefer is if they were packed in olive oil instead. I am not a fish lover normally but there is something about the smoke flavor that makes me love these canned herring.

Nice option for a smoky flavor when you want it. Not the best canned fish but far from the worst. occasionally I crave this more smoky flavored treat over a traditional sardine. Good boneless option for canned fish beginners as well. cannot go wrong with these at their usual price point.

Very nice fillets of herring with a nice smoky flavor. No bones ! A good deal from amazon IMO ! I flake the fish into a rice or macaroni dish usually. One can serves 2 meals this way - very economical !

These are large pieces, but the herring taste and flavor is dull with mostly the smoke coming through.

Great for a light meal full of protein and calcium
