Our old one lasted 10 years
I owned the standard version for 10 years. Now, granted, we didn't use it consistently all of those years. There were some years where it sat gathering dust because I only had the two pads that came with it and it was a pain to drag out. When we bought a house with my mother-in-law, she desired something more effective to mop with. So I opened Amazon and low and behold, there were now generic mop pad replacements on the cheap. I ordered a 10-pack, and now we could mop every day without needing to do a load of laundry in between. She loves the steam mop. To be honest, I do too. It's easier to push and it gets so much cleaner than any other mop I've tried. So after 10 years of on-and-off use (more so in the last 3 years), my original mop finally stopped making steam. I took the thing apart trying to see if something was clogged somewhere (DON'T do it unless you're a technician). It was time to buy a new one and I figured that since we use it so much (12 people live in our house), we deserved a deluxe mop. So I upgraded. I will say that the scrubby part is a little more clunky to use than the flip down scrubby on the original version, but it's more effective. It wasn't a huge upgrade to go to deluxe. The mop heads up quickly and the control panel on the deluxe makes a little more sense than the original. The best part is all my pads are compatible with it. Otherwise, I look forward to a few years of consistent use out of this mop!

I’m in love with this machine!!! (I know, so weird, lol, but it is AMAZING!!!)
I was skeptical of some of the reviews talking about how well it cleaned their grout - UNTIL I USED IT. Oh my gosh - I knew my grout needed some scrubbing for sure, but didn’t have the energy to get down on my hands and knees with a scrub brush. (Ok, who am I kidding? I wouldn’t ever want to do that anyway? Lol!) The scrubber brush on this machine along with the high heat steam did an AMAZING job with very little effort! I was actually dumbfounded watching the dirt just disappear!!! (See photos and don’t judge the grout grime, haha! My grout is normally a light tan - and these photos were taken after running the scrubber over the area back and forth maybe 3x applying little to no pressure. While it’s not perfect, it is a 95% improvement - I’ll take it!) Piece of advice - get extra mop pads (they sell non-Bissell ones for very cheap - I got 6 extras for $16.99)! Using the scrubber releases a lot more steam, so if you use the mop pad to soak it all up afterwards, the mop pad saturates pretty quickly (doing it this way I felt like I was pushing dirty water around). Being able to change out the mop pad makes a big difference in how clean the floor looks as well. I switched to using towels after doing some scrubbing - I’d use the scrubber, then wipe with the towel (with my foot - no bending down each time) - then once I’d scrubbed all I was going to scrub, I’d do a final pass with the mop pad attached. This machine is literally a game changer for me. It makes the job of getting all the grime off the grout much less daunting and doesn’t use any chemicals or leave any cleaning product residue like mopping can. In a house with a cat, 2 large dogs along with my family, our floors get dirty quick - this is a great way to quickly freshen up the floors! My floors look better than they have in probably 5+ years after using this! Pros: -heats up very quickly - less than 30 seconds -scrub tool is easy to use and takes very little effort for it to work really well -detaching mop pad/head is easy -mop pad cover is easy to get on/off -mop pad covers can be tossed in the washing machine after use Cons: -I wish the water tank was a little larger (when you use the scrubber, you use a lot more water than just using the mop head w/a pad - so it runs out quickly) Word of caution: if you take off the mop head to use the scrubber, be careful when reattaching the head - the parts where it clips together get hot! I think it would be easy to get burned if you don’t pay attention. I really couldn’t be more pleased with this steamer - I have actually recommended it to several people already and I’ve had it less than a week!

Cleans the tile perfectly with 1 -2 swipes, just not necessarily the grout.
Enjoying it so far. I see a significant amount of steam. I do like the abiity to use the steam brush but i's just a challenge to disengage. Overall I use it often and it performs. Have used it about 5 times so far. it cleans the tile, not necesaryly the grout since it sits lower than the tile. It cleans all the sticky mess on the floor from cooking and mixing drinks.

Life changing for the cleaning enthusiast
Having used this, I think that Swiffer just moves dirt and grime around on the floor instead of picking it up. I could not believe the bottom of my pad after 20 minutes of owning this machine. I will never go back to using a Swiffer and steam mops are the way forward. My buying notes: 1. As many others have stated, the water reservoir had droplets in it upon arrival. This has to be a QA/QC thing, but it would be nice for Bissell or Amazon to figure out how to either leave a note or to dry it out. Many of us thought we had received a used steam mop that was sent back. Not a big deal at the end of the day after learning about this. 2. The mop does make a slight sound while in use, like a soft knocking or gurgling, but not an issue. It would be nice for the startup guide to mention these so customers don't think they have a broken mop though. 3. The cord length is massively long (25 ft), way longer than my Shark vacuum. I will say this is a house type item for sure. If you have a small space like an apartment and don't like plugged in items, I'd look for a Tineco cordless steam mop. I like corded items mostly because the power output is usually better, and I don't have to worry about recharging. 4. The detachable base is nice for the bristle brush. It comes in handy for a lot of spots, especially in the bathroom and on tile. I do wish there was a more handheld aspect though that wasn't as awkward to hold for smaller areas. 5. The washable pads are awesome and work very well. The scent pads are a plus but not something I need. 6. As an equipment repair technician, I highly suggest making sure you use demineralized, distilled water or RO water. Over time, the chemicals and elements in tap water or a diluted cleaning agent will degrade the functions/parts of this unit. Any piece of equipment that is dealing in pressure, fluid and high temperatures is going to eventually breakdown sooner rather than later without proper maintenance. Reading the reviews, I already don't expect to get 10 years out of this thing, but I'm wondering how many issues were self-inflicted by not using the right water or not storing it properly. 7. As slim as this unit is, storing it is something to think about. I hang mine on my utility wall after draining and drying. I also detach the base to hang that separately as well. The base is quite wide like a large vacuum head.

Very Good!
UPDATED ONE YEAR LATER: After using this for one year I thought I would add an update. I am still v e r y pleased with this stem mop. It does the job. Vacuum well before using the Bissel for best results. Two very small niggles have emerged. 1. The handle is NOT very ergonomic and if you have any arthritis in your hands you might consider padding the handle. I have not yet dine this, but plan to look for an appropriate wrapping maybe to use over a bit of foam. 2. The cord does not like to stay ‘clipped’ and sometimes comes undone. I still find steam mopping the best and safest solution for cleaning my floors…especially with pets who can be sensitive to many cleaning products. I do enjoy adding just a hunt of organic essential oils to the “scent board” that fits into the plastic holder. It adds just enough to refresh the air without endangering my critter family members. I do remove the board after every use because essential oils could damage the plastic if left in place too long. I Have had no problems at all. ++++++++++++++++ I wanted a mop that was lightweight, easy to maneuver, did not require the use of cleaning powders or liquids, reduced bacteria and virus’ , stores easily in as small a space as possible. I ordered this Bissell and basically got exactly what I wanted! i have used a steam cleaner in the past (like 20 years ago) - it was a canister model that did a decent job but was a bit clunky to lug about. As age encroaches I found that I wanted a lighter, easier to manage steam mop that was light, easy to use, and cleaned like a wizard. I started doing some research and landed i. the Bissel. I am sensitive to many cleaning products. Steam sanitizes without the need for cleaning products! This model is easier to use and has very few - if any- negatives. Pros: * Lightweight * Very easy to maneuver. The cleaning head swivels to get into most any odd shaped or small area. * Produces prodigious steam in very little time. * Has two steam settings : regular steam and prodigious steam! * Easy to refill with water * Simple and intuitive to use. * The cleaning pads are well made, fit securely, clean very well and wash up perfectly. To me thats’s a win! Potential Cons * For anyone with arthritis in your hands and wrists - the handle could use a bit of padding. Certainly not a deal breaker but thought I would mention it. * Uses distilled water. I drink filtered water and I think that it will be sufficient - does not use all that much! I used it on vinyl flooring, LVP flooring, and tile flooring and it worked like a champ on all of them. Good product. Reasonable price. Clean, sanitized, floors!

Amazing Steam Mop!
I’m extremely impressed with the Bissell Steam Mop. It heats up quickly, is very easy to use, and leaves my floors spotless without any harsh chemicals. The steam power is strong enough to remove stuck-on dirt, and the swivel head makes it easy to clean around furniture. It works great on tile, hardwood, and laminate. If you want something lightweight, effective, and fast for everyday cleaning, this is a fantastic choice.

Still works perfect after 5 years!
I have had this steamer mop for 5 years and still LOVE it! Using it today on my new tile floors. Using brush to clean dried up drywall on floor. Easy to use and I feel like it sanitizes my floors unlike traditional mops.
