ACDelco 19328527 Summit White (WA8624) Four-In-One Touch-Up Paint - .5 oz Pen Review: I own a 2021 Silverado and this matched the paint perfectly. This product is perfect if you have tiny rock chips, that drive you crazy. Unfortunately, I did not snap a before picture; however, it completely conceals paint chips and protects your vehicle from rust! It adheres to the metal spots on your vehicle perfectly, and is extremely durable! As someone who used the black ACDELCO pen on my old 2012 Silverado, I can assure you all that this product works! (Make sure you prep your work area and use waterless car wash, before you apply to your vehicle to ensure the best adhesion for long term!) Furthermore, as someone who is constantly detailing my vehicle, and lets little imperfections bother me; this is the perfect solution for cheap! If you are looking for a cheap and effective solution, this is the product you want in your detailing bag! Review: I bought the ACDelco GM Original Equipment 19367652 Summit White/Olympic White 4 in 1 touch up paint because I had a round chip on the front corner at the top of my truck bed. It was about 1/4" almost round but not perfectly. It was chipped all the way to the metal and the edge were were pronounced but clean. I sanded the area with fine grit paper folded to a point and stayed inside the damaged area sanding only the metal and the inside of the paint around the edge. I cleaned the area with denatured alcohol and let dry. I shook the paint well before I started sanding and cleaning and let set so any bubbles would have time to disperse. I used the brush applicator to apply the paint. I built up to the original finish with 4 applications, waiting about a 1/2 hour between on a 82 degree day. By the time I got to the 4th coat I had a pretty good feel for the thickness and flow of the paint and was able to finish it off nicely with no need to sand to make level. At first this paint seemed to be a little brighter white, but the next day it was perfect. It was not the cheapest touch up paint, but I wanted to make this repair as good as it could be, and I did. There is plenty left over and I intend to store it in a climate controlled place in case I need it again. I would buy this product again if I needed to due such a repair again.

This is a great paint touch up package only missing a few items. The paint color, clear coat, and sanding tip are all great for this type of project, but you can make it even better by taking a few more steps. I've tried the Dr. ColorChip formulas but found them a bit wanting. If you are just repairing tiny (and not deep) scratches or chips, this ACDelco Four-In-One-Touch-Up Paint kit will do the job. But if you are dealing with heavier hits, like stones or debris from the highway, a bit more effort will give you a much more satisfactory result. Before attempting this type of repair, try out the technique on a piece of painted metal that you can put a similar chip in. Also important here in your testing is to replicate the surface to be repaired. If it is a flat surface like a hood, that is one thing, but if it's a vertical surface like a front bumper, a whole different touch is required. The laws of gravity can ruin your efforts if you don't take them into consideration. Order a Pratley Powda Bond kit, an automotive plastic glue that you can buy on Amazon. Before mixing and applying this glue, use the sanding chip included in the ACDelco package or buy the 'Extra Thin Fiberglass Scratch Brush' on Amazon for about $12.00. Using a magnifying class with the fine tip scratch brush will allow you to make certain that you have a clean and abraded surface to apply the Powda Bond to. Always use eye protection and gloves when working with fiberglass scratch pens to avoid the tiny pieces that can flake off and cause a problem for you. Mix the ingredients in the Pratley Powda Bond kit to the consistency of thick paint. After cleaning out the chip, dab a small amount of the Powda Bond mixture into the hole to be repaired, smoothing it out until it evenly fills the hole. Use the magnifying glass to check your progress and try to avoid overfilling it since there must be enough space left over for the ACDelco paint and clear coat. If it's a really deep chip, use another small amount of the Powda Bond, let it dry, and then sand very lightly with a 2000 grit sandpaper. Now apply a very small amount of the ACDelco paint and (if required) add additional layers until the paint is even with the surface. The magnifying glass comes in very handy for this purpose assuming that you have a good light source to examine your job. If the paint does not dry completely flat, again very gently sand the painted surface, taking care not to sand any of the surrounding area. After that, apply the clear coat finish, let it dry, and buff it with a rubbing compound until the repaired area matches the surrounding undamaged paint. You can see why practicing on another piece of painted metal first can be an effective way to test your talents and maybe improve upon them before attacking the real problem. The whole theory of touch-up paint repair is to make it as invisible as possible, a task that takes a bit of effort to perfect. Once you have it down, it's easy to impress your friends with your new skill. Be careful who you show it to or you may soon be moonlighting in a new profession.

This product is very good at touch-ups and even larger scrapes or chips. It has the paint and a top layer clear coat with applicators for each in one small pen. There is a deceptibly large amount of paint for a small package. I had some larger chips to fill in and I bought 2 pens and didn't need the second one. What you don't get with this package is an easy way to touch up the touch up work you're doing. Unlike painting a wall, you can't go back and fix or make the touch-up area look better. The more you try to fix an area the worse the paint area becomes. For instance, it drys so quickly that becomes uneven and repeared applications starts to tower over (be raised higher) than the original paint that it surrounds it. I found this out on the first large area I tried to fix. Also, prep the area by cleaning with rubbing alcohol to remove dirt and paint transfer streaks. So it seems best to accept the original flaws rather then go back over to try to fix the paint,, because it just makes it worse. There is no easy way to remove layers without sanding and possibly ruin the surrounding good original. Also don't expect a perfect match as the paint that you put it on looks brighter and newer than the surrounding original paint. You can try to blend the area with ultra fine sandpaper (3000 grit or higher) and use a really good top code fixing car wax (turtle wax scratch repair or other) (not easy and nerve racking). Note, the after picture above is not blended yet.. I ran out of time and wanted the new paint to cure and age first.. That said you can still see a slight shading difference to the original paint that is on the car due to the oxidation in age of the original paint on the car. If you're willing to live with those limitations, this is an excellent product that from 2 to 5 feet away looks good and could save hundreds of dollars in body shop work. The car I was working on for my daughter was quoted as 2100 dollars for repair. She is thrilled her car looks "normal" now.
