They are waterproof and I found universal if you need to connect other wires outside or safely cap off a live wire with these having a blank cap on one end if you need it. I drilled through the middle inside the unit for universal use but don’t drill it if you are using it for its original purpose. Well worth the money good quality and robust and useful for different purposes handy to have cheap and delivered early

2nd time ordering these for outside use and never had an issue so far.

Perfect connectors with everything needed to do the job. Had them outside in rain and cold, worked perfectly!

I have several glands I use for both power wires and ethernet cables. Its so hard sometimes to find a gland that fits something thicker than sheet metal. This gland will easily fit material 1/8" think and probably thicker up to I'd say maybe 3/16" thick pushing 1/4" will probably start to interfere and potentially make it not seal well. I have not had them outside long so I can't say anything yet for longevity, but the do seem to work well. Bonus they can be used not only as a gland to go inside a box and keep that waterproof, but they can also be used just sitting somewhere to join two cables together and keep that connection waterproof. The only dislike I have is the dust cover on this is not rated at the same IP waterproof rating. It does NOT have a rubber seal! It however does appear to make a relatively rainproof connection with the dust cover on, but its definitely not the same level as having a cable installed. If submerged the waterproof passthrough connector is NOT waterproof. The waterproofing comes from the red seals! You'd pretty much have to be submerged before water started to get in without the seals. So if you're only concerned about rain this shouldn't be much of an issue.

The connector is well made, and looks quite secure and work great. My weather-exposed ethernet cables are still working after the last heavy rain. My only gripe is that these are a bit longer than I'd like (they stand out because of it).

Used these and they are great, I ordered some other type of Cat6 connector just to see the difference, and I'm glad i went with this product.
