Great stand, easily customized
This is the 3rd of these I've bought for holding rack gear at gigs or in the practice room. Super sturdy. I made this one narrower to exactly fit between the ridges in an SKB rack case by cutting about 4" off the ends of the lateral tubes. The screw knobs were removed during this modification so I drilled holes and used short, hefty sheet metal screws to lock the width.

Heavy Duty Keyboard Stand
I have owned keyboards for over 30 years and I have seen a LOT of stands. So far, this one is my favorite one. I usually play big, heavy 88 key stage pianos and most stands just aren't up to the task. This is the first keyboard stand I have owned that doesn't make me uneasy when I put my keyboard on it - wondering if it is going to topple mid performance. All the parts are beefy and solid and it is super easy to set up, take down, carry, and transport. It really is the most clever design I have ever seen. I now own 3 of them for my 2 keyboards and 1 for my audio mixer. When I went to purchase another one, I saw *similar* "Z" designs but all of the other designs I saw only have a single cross piece whereas this one sports a double cross piece. I worry about the other designs because I truly would not trust a single cross bar not to wobble sideways - YIKES! Plus, the simplicity of it is really beautiful. And in case you are wondering, I paid full price for all 3 of my stands and I was not given any kind of promotional credit to write this review. If you read my other reviews, you will see that I have no patience for cheaply manufactured garbage - but I fall in love whenever I come across a product that actually exceeds my expectations. This one definitely gets that prize. I wish the manufacturer did not use staples in the box, though. Those things are dangerous and I didn't love going to my toolbox for a pliers in order to safely unbox this thing - not to mention that all the staples must be removed prior to recycling the cardboard. Tape is perfectly adequate. The way they bolted the parts together for shipping threw me for a loop too, but it's actually pretty clever and makes the stand easier to ship without damage. Also, I'm not sure who fulfilled this order, but the shipping was painfully slow. It took them several weeks just to put this thing in the mail. Other than that - I can't recommend this keyboard stand highly enough - if I ever need another one, I hope I can still find it!

This is the stand.
I have a Korg Kross II (~38 pounds) and an Alesis QS8 (~60 lbs). This stand can support either one easily. I found one on Craigslist years ago and bought another from Amazon used. They are great stands. I like that the new one has pads on the keyboard-facing surface that reduce sliding."Acceptable condition" meant that some of the metal attachments were bent. It isn't too bad and was almost half off the price. I recommend this stand to anyone! It is the best heavy duty stand you can buy for this price point.

A Great Stand for a Reasonable Price
I was looking for a stand that was sturdy and portable if I needed it to be. This stand fills both requirements, and at a great price. It would have been worth paying the full price of $53.25, but by the time Amazon deducted a 15% promotional discount ($7.99) and I used $15.10 of credit card rewards, I paid a grand total of $30.16 with free shipping. There are no instructions included, and if I not already read that you initially had to unscrew the two legs before assembling it I might have been as confused as some of the others that commented. (The additional photos from Chicago CPA will walk you right through it, though I didn't see them until after I had already put it together.) The height adjustment is easy since there are guiding marks that will allow you to easily position the leg and tighten the handle into the proper hole. The side-to-side adjustment has no holes and you just tighten the handles at whatever position you need. There are also 4 self-adhesive rubber pads that attach to the top to keep your keyboard from slipping around.

Rock Solid
I put my 88-key Yamaha P-120 keyboard on this thing, and it's solid. It doesn't sway or anything while I'm playing. After a few minutes I forgot that I was even testing out the stand and just had fun playing. That's a good stand right there.I took off a star because I agree with other reviewers in that there needs to be some kind of instructions for initial installation. Maybe even something simple on the outside of the box. It's not really complicated, but it's not immediately intuitive, either. When the stand arrives folded up, you have to remove the two center knobs completely and then reattach them in a different place. Once you got that, it's a piece of cake. Also note that the vertical adjustment has notch holes for the screws to go into. I didn't realize this at first and put a couple of circular dents in the posts (although I don't think this compromises stability). I think it would make more sense to use pins instead of screws with knobs. The other reason I took off a star was because one of the screw knobs was kinked during manufacturing. The screw was at an angle compared to the plastic knob, but it was still fixed in place. This didn't affect the performance of the stand, but it was just a little annoying. Also, the brackets didn't quite fit all the way on the posts, so I kind of had to work them on there. I think over time with repeated fastening of the screws, the brackets will bend into shape. Despite these two setbacks, the stand still works great. But hey, it's a great stand at a great price. Very solid. I wanted the Z-stand so my knees wouldn't get knocked with an X-stand, and it works great for that. Also, this stand goes as low as 24", which is great if you're not a very tall person and accustomed to the height of a real piano with a piano bench.UPDATE: There are assembly instructions! But you have to download them from the website, and they're not included in the box (why not?). Go to [www] [dot] [onstagestands] [dot] [com] and then click on Support > Replacement Parts. Then type in the model number "KS7350", then click on the product link, and it will show all of the replacement parts available for this product. Scroll up a little and click on the "Documents" tab. There you will find a spec sheet and official assembly instructions (note that it's in MS Word doc format). I'm going to post a screen snapshot in the customer images.ANOTHER UPDATE: I contacted On Stage Stands to request a replacement knob, and they happily did so. Great customer service.
