Kaffe Fassett's Quilts in an English Village Paperback – August 3, 2021

I love to look through books that have lots of stimulating pictures! It energizes me and makes me want to get started on a new project and gives me ideas of how things that are works of art by themselves can work together to make an even more visual impact! The pictures in Kaffe Fassett's Quilts in an English Village are stunning and interesting as well as the quilts that have been created from the esthetic of the buildings in the village. I now look for ideations from the things that are in every place I go. I have even started to keep a journal in both pictures taken on my phone and sketch interesting things in a little spiral notebook that fits in my purse!

I love Kaffe Fasset and his use of color. Like that he named the fabrics he used from his signature fabric line on each project. He also does knitting books if you want to get into Kaffe Fasset.

I think one of my brain circuits got reprogrammed recently. I had never seen the point of using these large and bright prints in quilts. Then a little light went on in my brain and I am trying to decide what pattern and which fabrics to try first. I like traditional blocks, but I am a fan of construction with blended fabrics. It had never occurred to me that you could blend purple and green and orange before. I feel like an eight year old with a big box of crayons. Thanks Kaffee. The trips to the British Isles made your books even more fun.

The patterns are all beautiful and the instructions are easy to follow including the amount of each fabric that needs to be available.

All of Kaffee's books are beautiful and his fabrics are always stunning. This book did not appeal to me as much as his others. I think I have them all and will buy the next one too. I just found that this one wasn't as enticing as his others, I have no desire to make any of these quilts. But that's what it's all about, quilting patterns and fabrics appeal in different ways to all of us. The pictures where they are photographed are a work of art in themselves. Sometimes you just need a feast for the eyes.

The book is exactly as advertised .. be warned, there are some errors in the patterns thrmselves in the book .. check online for errors in this book so you won't be frustrated when trying to pit these beautiful patterns together!
