Murder at an Irish Christmas (An Irish Village Mystery) Review: Enjoyable - I started with book one and I’m now reading an in between book, I guess I would call it 6.33. This book number 6, takes place at Christmas and so does 6.33 there is an another Christmas in between I’m calling 6.6 then continues with 7. All the book so far have been nice cosy murder mysteries. The in between books are by other authors as well as the Irish murder mystery Author, Carlene O’Connor. Fortunately I was given all the rest of the series, but the latest, for Christmas and I will happily read them all. (Total of 10 plus 2 Christmas in betweens) I don’t want to say anything about the characters and plots because that takes away all the fun of reading the books. If you like Cozy murder mysteries and the feeling of belonging you will enjoy these books. Review: Murder and Christmas don't mix - Well let's be honest Murder is the last thing you want to think about at Christmas! Well in this book it's lucky there is only one murder. I give the main character major props for not only holding her tongue in certain situations but for not out a few people in this particular story. Though this book is well written and keeps you guessing throughut the whole story with enough suspects that it's hard to keep them straight, this is NOT my favorite of the series. Now I know that it is probably meant to show that not all families are perfect, but Siobhan O'Sullivan (even though fictional) is a Saint for not taking out her brother's fiance. The woman that is to marry her brother is one that reminds me of my ex-sister-in-law in a lot of ways, which is probably way I am having such a hard time liking her. With that said and probably because of that character I can only give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. This book has murder, affairs, a Guarda that is blind to who the killer might be, some moments that get your adrenaline pumping, and the family vibe that you have come to expect from the O'Sullivan Six. But don't expect any hot and heavy scenes, keeping this book at a Bell Pepper like the other books in the series. I recommend this book if you like a holiday mystery, can handle family drama and very selfish people. This book is one I recomend on a cold winter's night with a cup of tea or hot chocolate, and a roaring fire. It will keep you on your toes and I don't think that you will see the killer coming! I hope that this helps you find your next Tantalzing Tome!

Am so happy to have discovered Carlene O_Connor's Irish Village mysteries She is a very skilled writer and weaves an intriguing plot while drawing the reader in with the charm of the characters. The O'Sullivan family is endearing!

The Joys of Christmas
This was a fun read especially since I was reading it while high heat and humidity advisories are out. The characters are well developed even though they probably won't appear again. I think the story line is perfect, not only because I completely lost myself in it, but it also shows what real families are like and how one person can effect so many lives. Unfortunately I didn't feel the holiday spirit like I anticipated, but that's alright. Good story makes good reading. Just a few thoughts. I still don't like Elise. James could do better, and I wonder if Shioban will start to live her own life and not be obsessed with her siblings. Only time will tell.

An enjoyable cozy mystery.I appreciate that the author has included a glossary for the pronunciation of the gaelic names.

Love the whole series
Always a serious crime to solve. But what my wife and I love the most is the heart warming family relationships and humor among the siblings. Plenty of Irish traditions and family values too. One of our favorite series.

Harping On
Nosy O’Sullivan is at it again. Not even a Christmas vacation to a little village in West Cork with her siblings, and away from Macdara, could stop Siobhan from getting involved in a possible murder investigation. Again, despite being outside her jurisdiction, her garda instincts jumped in when a prominent music conductor is found dead in a mill, with a harp lying on top of him. There is a broken railing on the floor above him. Did he fall while trying move the harp, or was he pushed? You know that Garda O’Sullivan will drop everything to try to solve the mystery.

Light yet gripping a lovely cozy mystery
I've read other of Carlene O'Connor's books and greatly enjoyed them. I've been reading this one for Christmas in July reading challenge.

Great book, fun to read, suspense until the end. And if you don't fall in love with the protagonists I can't help...

Loved this book! Charlene O'Connor writes brilliantly, the characters are so well rounded one can picture them, they're like friends you've yet to meet. This "whodunnit" take kept me hooked till the end when the murderer was revealed; fabulous! I'm reading my way through the whole series and I would humbly suggest you do the same; you won't be disappointed!

Gorgeous family, including Dara, & interesting characters form a fascinating story. I wish James would drop Elise though. She’s just not good enough.
