I have a kitty that likes to get up on the kitchen cabinets and we were concerned he’d turn it into his own bathroom. We tried a couple different things to keep him off of them before ordering these and they are working perfect! He got up a couple times and when he realized he couldn’t hang out, got down with no issues. We’ve kept them up and he hasn’t made anymore attempts. I love that whole these are uncomfortable for him, they don’t clearly hurt him and he learned quickly that he couldn’t get back up there. Overall a great product

I made the mistake of buying another brand and they were very brittle. These mats are flexible and easy to cut. I highly recommend these mats as they are effective in deterring animals from going where you don’t want them.

This product really works. I have trimmed it and cut it to position area surrounding the post where the numbers to our house is. The dogs will step on it and leap off immediately. No more dogs peeing on that post and no more dogs pooping on my garden right at the entrance to my home. This is a marvelous thing. I see the same dogs that used to dump right there walk on it and immediately run off. They never do it twice. And it’s fairly good looking as well! It’s a dark area surrounding the flowers that I have growing there and looks really quite elegant and professional. I can’t help running to the window every time a dog walks by to watch them, not poop on my yard. The dogs in the neighborhood have learned, they don’t even sniff in that direction anymore. They just walk on by. UPDATE: I still love this solution to my problem. Having had it down now since my first entry, I have discovered these trap small leaves in the fall. I just pull them up, stacked, rake the leaves, and re-apply. Presto! A neat, new look. Also - now the Unconscionably Rude Dog Walkers who leave their dog's poop have selected another part of my front border upon which to leave their feces, despite my lovely garden filled with summer flowers for all to admire and take delight in. (sigh) I am prepared to cover all of my parking strip if I have to; I have ordered 10 more boxes. UPDATE: August 11, 2025. MAN I love this stuff! There is no single dog who will stop and poop on my property, even when their owner encourages them to. They just don't step on it twice. Yes yes yes! AND, it looks like a high-definition mulch! My sedums grow right up through it, flowers and all! When I weed, I sometimes remove them and then replace them. They get trampled a little by enthusiastic children testing them out, but - hey - that's entertainment! I don't mind that. It's dog poop left for me to deal with I don't want. And that is working!!!!!

It seems to work. I have feral cats in my neighborhood, and they like to sleep on the chair and bench on my porch. I installed these mats and they seem to have done the trick of keeping the cats off the furniture. They are lightweight and easy to use, easy to remove/replace (I just lift them off and slide them under the furniture until it's time to put them back on again), and seem to be reasonably durable so far. They are not super-sturdy, but they don't have to be for my particular application... they just have to keep the cats off, and they seem to do that just fine. Yes, I would recommend them and/or buy them again.

For the effectiveness of keeping away animals, such as cats and dogs, out of flower beds and gardens, this product is great! However, when using it in garden beds, it becomes a little difficult when adding mulch. The spikes are tall enough to protrude too far out of the mulch and, therefore, only allows a minimal coverage if you want to keep out pets. Also, the pieces will come up when pulling weeds. And, if redoing the flower beds, the pieces have to come up and then put back down. They also do not come with enough spikes to secure into the ground, so I had to fashion some from thick wire. Some really good points are that the spikes are effective in making animals stay out of the beds and they're easy to cut to shape/size.

I live in a suburb where everyone and his grandma has a dog and walks said dog past my house multiple times per day. This presented a challenge in trying to replace the pointless turf grass with more interesting, beautiful, and functional plants such as native trees and flowers. However, said dogs were detrimental to this process as they thought it was a great place to spray their liquid waste all over the place. Lo and behold, these scat mats keep them away! They create a great buffer between the sidewalk and the plants. I placed them on top of the bare mulch border, and they are great. They are easy to click together in various configurations, in case you don't have a straight line to work with.

Only comes with 7 anchors for 10 mats, and the mats need at least 3 anchors to work. Took less than 3 days for my cat to realize she could bite a spike, pull the out the mat (which I cut to fit the pot), and created another mess. Conclusion: these mats don't work for potted plants, and my cats is a jerk.

Why didn’t I think of this sooner? I have a Great Dane and a Doberman Pinscher that have been tearing up this one piece of lawn for the past two years, then they drag dirt into the house. This plastic mat has sharp little spikes that they will not go near!
