On average your iPhone's charge level should increase by 1-2 percentage points per minute of cranking. The Powerhouse will continuously charge your iPhone at the maximum possible speed. For safety reasons, the iPhone's battery has a built-in limitation on how quickly it will accept electrical energy. The rechargeable batteries within most portable electronic devices are similarly limited. Battery and smartphone manufacturers have slowly been increasing this limit in recent years through design improvements. The iPhone's current maximum charging speed amounts to less than half of what the Powerhouse can deliver. As smartphone and battery manufacturers continue to increase maximum possible charging speeds, the Powerhouse's power electronics will automatically sense that, always delivering charge at the latest maximum speeds. Older iPhone models will generally have slower maximum charging speeds. You will usually achieve the highest charging speeds via the Powerhouse's USB-C port. If your iPhone has USB-C, you can use the standard USB-C to USB-C charging cable that came with it to connect it to the Powerhouse. If your iPhone has a lightning port, you can use a USB-C to lightning cable. You can always charge your iPhone via the Powerhouse's USB-A port as well, but charging will generally be slower because safety-related electrical design standards impose a lower maximum charging speed for USB-A than for USB-C. iOS software versions 13.0 and later incorporate a feature called "Optimized Battery Charging." This feature learns your charging habits and adjusts the phone's charging rate so that the phone spends as little time as possible charged to 100%. Apple introduced this feature to improve battery life and capacity (a battery that spends a lot of time at 100% will degrade more quickly than one that spends more time at a lower charge level). For example, if you tend to charge your phone overnight, the Optimized Battery Charging feature will slow down the charge rate during the night so that the phone hits 100% (or stays just below 100%) right when you wake up. The Powerhouse can deliver more than enough power to charge your batteries as quickly as they can possibly charge. However, the Powerhouse's power is not what will determine how fast your batteries charge. For safety reasons, the power at which batteries can charge is limited by their manufacturers. This is a design feature of the batteries, not the Powerhouse. So the best way to determine how long it will take to charge your batteries is to refer to the charge time of the batteries according to the battery manufacturer. Please also note that the Powerhouse delivers charge power via USB, meaning that the AA/AAA battery charger would also need to be powered via USB in order for the Powerhouse to work with it.

Our customers have had success with USB-C to DC converter cables. These cables provide a constant output voltage between 5–20V and standard DC barrel jack connectors or positive and negative terminals that allow you to charge batteries (including car batteries) or power banks that do not normally charge via USB.

There's no voltage regulator or need to adjust output? It's done automatically?

The output voltage (and current) are automatically adjusted based on the power needs of the device being charged. For that reason there is no user-controlled output voltage regulator.
