Unless you are a Chinese medical practitioner, botanist, or naturopath, and you're using this product, you'd be cluless about the extent to which such a health product could benefit you. Swanson's Magnolia Bark Extract works to support health in so many ways, its hard to figure out where to start. Initially, I purchased the product as an aid to cellular health. Then I discovered that chiefly, it was a powerful "stress buster," working by calming the mind and nervous system, and blocking the stress hormone cortisol. Upon using it, I am calmer, less stressful, and more relaxed. It helps those dealing with anxiety issues and is an outstanding sleep aid, especially when combined with melatonin. It has anti- inflammatory properties, and is a potent antibacterial, used by some in a homemade toothpaste. These are only a few of the health benefits of magnolia bark extract. Be careful in making the distinction between Magnolia Bark and Magnolia Bark Extract. The extract is standardized for the compounds behind the product's wonderful health benefits. Also, to get the most from magnolia bark extract, take it with meals with fat/oil in them (I prefer light versions of such meals) for best absorption. This is because the bioactive compounds in the extract are lipophillic, which means they have an affinity for fat in the digestive tract.

This is one of my favorite supplements, I have used it for years. My old brand was discontinued, and I moved to this one. It includes both alkaloids, and works great. Larger bottles would be preferable, but the low cost makes it worth purchasing. They absolutely help me sleep quality, and can be used to relax during the evening.

this is a quality product. However, it is a tiny bottle perfect for throwing in your purse I had gotten the magnolia sinus before. That's Chinese medicine. And that was extremely effective. It was a dollar less. I felt like it went further by far. The magnolia bark is supposed to have the same good effects with sinus and calming of the neurology and anxiety, especially when I have allergies. My acupuncture Physician originally prescribed this. I got the Chinese one last time as a replacement I like the little little tea pills next time I'll get a bigger bottle of magnolia.

Supposed to keep you from getting awake in the middle of the night and it did not work. May help other people did absolutely nothing for me

Started taking it for sleep, would work really well for that. I was taking 2 caps a night. However it would impact how I felt the next day. Would feel a lot of rebound anxiety similar to benzodiazepines. Use with caution.
