Well-made shoes, unique style
These were my first BedStu product, and definitely won't be my last. I've never been one to spend this kind of money on shoes; I usually buy nicer used second-hand. I decided to treat myself to "real" handmade shoes and see what all the fuss was about. WOW. I had been looking for a pseudo-combat boot that was both masculine, yet feminine at the same time. I searched everywhere. I was deciding between this style and the Bonnie, which is similar, but two inches shorter from the top (and the zippers are visible in the front). I can't compare this to the Bonnie, but I am glad I went with this taller style. I figured if it is supposed to look like a combat boot, then it should be taller rather than a bootie. These still aren't THAT tall where they feel like a winter-only style. These are super comfortable, very little break-in period, and I will be wearing these a lot.

Beautiful boot, but my heel slips :(
This is a very nice looking boot, but unfortunately they just don't fit me well. They are very narrow in the toe area, which didn't concern me much because I know they would give a little. The length was fine. (I usually wear a 7.5 in shoes and a 7 in boots as I find they tend to run a but large, and I ordered the 7 in these.) But even with the laces as tight as they would go, my heel kept slipping when I walked. Maybe insoles of some sort would have solved this, but I decided to return them in the hopes of finding a pair that fits without my having to add anything.I have another pair of Bed Stu boots (Oath) that fit right out of the box. If you are familiar with the Oath boot, the leather on this Laurel boot is quite different. It is thinner. Also the Oath boot has more arch support. The Laurel boot is a lightweight boot with a sole that is still rugged. If you have an easier-to-fit foot than I do, I'd recommend this boot, it is a great menswear style and seemed very well-made like my other Bed Stu pair. But if you have a very narrow and almost flat foot like I do, these might not fit you securely in the heel/ankle area. Thankfully you can return them with no trouble if you need to!

So happy I got these in a 6
So happy I got these in a 6. They were not only much cheaper than a 6 1/2, but they fit me perfectly. They're not narrow at all. My feet aren't thin or narrow, but not wide either. The boots look extremely well put together and good quality, and are incredibly soft inside. I only buy leather, especially for the inside because I hate socks and without socks, if you're not wearing leather, shoes can get nasty and hence so will your feet. I recommend this boot. I hear others of the same brand come smaller than the size, so I was scared this one might too even after reading reviews, but no, they are just fine. Good quality boot for the price (at least up to size 6 they are inexpensive)Got the brown ones first, same goes for the black ones. Nice shoes!

A Bed Stu lover!
Comfortable and true to size. Bed Stu shoes normally run about 1/2 small but not these. I purchased the black ones but seriously considering getting the brown ones as well. I like the zipper in the back, makes them a little less combat looking and more feminine. With these you can dress them up or down. As one reviewer stated these shoes are going for $200 or more on other sites. Being that these are all leather including the soles they are slippery so be careful the first few wears. Not a problem for me, I'm a foot dragger anyway. They fit like a glove and are excellent quality. I suggest wearing them around the house a bit, again they are true to size and the leather is soft but sturdy. Also, I did not have any problem with the lace eyelets, they weren't sharp or scratchy.

Usually love Bed Stu but…
I love all my Bed Stu sandals and boots, but didn't care for these boots as they were way too tight (even though I'm well aware that Bed Stu's run small) and not nearly as distressed-looking or broken-in, which is the primary reason I love Bed Stu's line. They were much shinier and dressier than I wanted for this type of boot that I had planned to wear with jeans. Bed Stu is a great product… But this style just wasn't for me.

Love these boots
Love them but they run at least a half size too small.

Awesome Deal !!!!
Love these boots , the price is more than half less than other sites. Love the quality, worth every penny. Only complaint is that the eyelets are sharp on the inside. So not knowing this I cut several fingers when trying them on. Which makes me believe that they were defective and Bedstu probably couldn't sell them, hence the very discounted price. Doesn't bother me, I will just use plyers to flatten the pieces sticking up. Definitely would have sent back if I paid full price.

Bed|Stü makes great boots and shoes
Bed|Stü makes great boots and shoes, generally. This is my sixth purchase of their boots and shoes, so clearly I'm a fan. Because they're made by hand, they often have slight irregularities in their details, stitching, or color. They sometimes take a bit of breaking in, too, as did this boot; but I'm happy with the overall fit and look of it. With good care, these should last a while.
