Excellent.
Item arrived within 24 hours of order to Scottish Islands, an outstanding effort. Decided to replace a three-year-old Vacuum sealer that was frankly hit and miss and cost around two-thirds the price of this gadget. Delighted to have taken the plunge and splurged more than intended on this (so far, excellent) Vacuum Sealer. It sure does suck and seal with rapid vigour, you can see the progress with illuminating digits. It has versatility and features as yet untried. Easy to clean and store. No hesitation in recommending it. Considerably better level of performance from my previous gadget which was hardly cheap, it frequently frustrated. Cannot yet vouch for longevity but beyond that, very impressed. Perhaps a tad expensive but...it works. What is not to like?

Warrenty unit failed too
After much research & deliberation, selected this model for our 1st Vacuum sealer. 7 months later the unit would pull a vacuum on the 1st bag, and that was it, even leaving it for a short while had no effect. So replacement unit delivered in November, now in March just the same symptoms, unit not pulling a vacuum. I did see a couple of similar comments before my 1st purchase, but decided still to go for it as the vast majority of comments were positive. So if your looking for a midrange sealer please note I would definitely recommend that you rethink your choice. The one thing I can recommend is Amazons customer service, the replacement unit was delivered the next day after I contacted them, and the refund by way of gift car was issued as soon as I handed the return to the courier. Excellent service but very poor product

Great product but 1 downfall
I think this is a well made easy to use product. The suction is excellent, it is so simple to use there is an auto countdown for completion of vacuum and seal. Love the fact there is a compartment to hold the roll in addition to this a cutter incorporated. The other thing I like is the tube for containers is also in the lid which keeps everything in one place. There are multiple options for dry and wet foods and amazingly for marinade too. Overall I would say an excellent addition to any kitchen that want to preserve food longer. The only criticism I have is that the appliance includes a suction tube attachment for vacuum sealing such things as containers and bottles. I cannot find any of these attachments available for this appliance.

Good machine. Seller less so.
THE POSITIVE: The machine itself seems to be quite good. It seals well and the double-sealing is a good feature. Pretty happy with it. THE NEGATIVE The negative for me was trying to find out about replacement gaskets. Knowing (from bad past experience) that gaskets are almost always the cause of failure on vacuum sealers, I set out to find replacement gaskets to have when I need them. The gaskets are a bit unusual in shape. I asked SousVide Tools for help but they said they don't provide replacement gaskets and I should try Google. I contacted SousVide Tools again and asked them for the name of the manufacturer so I could contact them but they say that they ARE the manufacturer but don't provide gaskets. (And don't provide warranty support for purchases via Amazon.) Luckily, I learned that the machine is identical to the Nesco VS-12 and FoodSaver VS-12. Knowing that, I was able to find them on OutOfAir.com (part T910-0000750 and on Amazon ("4 Pack Foam Replacement Gaskets compatible with Deluxe Food VS-12 Vacuum")

The difference is noticeable.
Got this today so can only report on 4 bags worth, but..... The difference in the quality of the build, the attachments and the controls are instantly noticeable. Its the quality of the weld across the sealing strip that stands out for me. A dead straight line with no gaps or wrinkles, unlike the previous one I had that eventually started to burn holes and/or create an uneven weld with hot spots along the line. The suction is better and I like the manual button to stop the vacuum and weld in place without loss of vacuum. The package comes with some large bags and medium bags 10x and 5x to start you off and a yard of cable to plug the machine in. The tube for using this machine on tubs is located inside the top lid along its length and is easy to miss, so check there first before contacting distributer. Keep the travel wedges that allow the unit to be stored with the lid open (back in box) so the foam sealing strips dont get creased if left in store for a long time. A removeable bath for liquids is great so its easily washable if vacuumed contents leak out. Overall, this unit cost just over twice the first one I bought and even at this early stage i'm pretty impressed and happy with it. Will update if anything changes.

not as good as i was hoping
So been using this for a while now and though initially i had found a great machine. I love the double seal as was fed up with previous machines not completely sealing, now I've 100% more chance that wont occur. In built storage and a cutter is also a plus. What i don't like and im beginning to think that maybe i expecting too much and prosumer models will always have the trouble of overheating of the sealer, just having done meat bonanza purchase at Costco got everything ready to split and seal. marker pen at the ready. What i hadn't expected was having to wait for cool down after only the 10th seal this time, do these go bad over time? not that ive used it often. After the initial run today it was seal, seal, wait...... seal, seal, wait... not what i was expecting at this price tbh. previous sealers were a 3rd of the price so they can be forgiven but not really for a £100+ unit. shame. Occasionally the suction wouldn't work either, as though there was a bad seal or hole (so much for the double seal) switching bags and all was good, but the bags appeared water tight when testes so I'm not sure what the problem was..
