Fantastic replacement for OG Shute 447s
I’m gonna hit the “big question” first and foremost. Absolutely fantastic replacement for the ACTUAL Shure 447s. I was really dismayed when I read they were gonna stop producing styli. I thought that this was the end for them; I’d have to switch to Ortofon Yellow/Blue club styli or even worse - convert. There was rampant inflation and outright extortionist prices. Then JICO stepped in and filled the gap for us. Hell, they even came out with a set that glow in the dark (great for low-lit booths). The ONLY thing I don’t like about them is that they don’t have the little “nipples” mounting point for the stylus cover that came on the actual Shure labeled ones. So that gets a 4x on value for money, but honestly they’re a great deal and sound wonderful and I’d prefer to rate it in 4.5 stars. I shouldn’t have put off buying new styli as long as I did. Highly recommend. Well worth the price.

Meh
I was initially happy to find a replacement for my worn m-44's, but these just don't look right. The plastic insert is big and kind of crooked. Ultimately, it does play ok and the needle looks straight enough to my eye. I'm just a bit picky about looks and these are a turn off because of that. They are probably fine and of course are great for the price. Ultimately though I think it's time to let my old m-44's go and get back to a complete OEM solution.

Works for m44 series.
I have had a shure m44-g since 1999 and last week it died. It worked pretty hard for the last two decades. I didnt know shure discontinued m44 series and was out of business. It's sad, but I found a way to revive my cartridge because I don't like ortofon at all. I did a lot of research and Jico is the best hifi company to continue manufacturing stylus for m44 series. M44-7 and m44-g has the same headshell. So if you put m44-7 on your m44-g headshell, it's m44-7. I like the sound of it. It sounds better than the original imo. I would recommend it to anybody who has m44 headshells and dont wanna spend too much money and wanna continue using their m44s. I am gonna keep using my m44, so its the best solution for me.

Excellent stylus. Jico rocks!
Jico definitely holds themselves up against their reputation. There is absolutely no difference between the Shure OEM N-44-7 stylus and Jico's version. Really glad these tips are available. It's a great stylus and my absolute favorite.

Skips a lot on Serato
This "new" model of the Jicos are terrible compared to the 1st generation Jicos. I have broken in the needle for over 2 months and still the needle hops around while using serato vinyl. This is with the tone arm calibrated and even the counterweight set to max (happens on both Technics). When I'm doing beat juggling, the needle doesn't track properly and I get some skippage. If I'm just doing straight mixing with little to no beat juggling, it's passable. I don't have this skippage problem with the 1st generation Jico's or my Shure n447s (which I only use for live gigs and not practice).

Sounds clear.
Sounds great! Not an audiophile per se, but it sounds very clear and I am learning to enjoy listening to music again!

Absolutely terrible.
I have an original Shure needle to compare this with, and have tried it in different headshells, this thing sounds AWFUL. Just inexcusably bad low end distortion, totally unusable. Night and day difference between OEM needles and these. Too bad, maybe I got a dud, they have high ratings. My turntable is set up properly and the OEM needle in the exact same headshell/cartridge sounds clear as a bell compared to this gritty piece of crap. NEVER again. What a waste of money.
