Great value POE switch
Needed a POE switch I could remotely manage, tag VLANs, set MAC address ranges for VOIP phones that would allow for data traffic through the phones. This does it and does it way cheaper than the alternatives. The wattage isn't high enough to serve higher power devices, but is perfect for a few phones in a small office.

30 years with D-Link
D-Link 8-Port Gigabit Smart Managed Switch Be sure to read the full review. I have had this switch for 3 months. It's used to extend my home network to my shop/lab and provide connections for test equipment, CAD station, and Software development suite. This switch worked well from the very start. Although I didn't test the bandwidth to actual specifications, the performance seemed to meet the specs. The only thing which didn't seem to work was the web interface for management. Direct access by web browser (Firefox and Edge) would not connect. Access using the latest version of D-Link's Smart Console Utility failed to recognize the switch. After a full reset of the switch, all methods were tried again without success. Three requests for help to D-Link's published eMail address ([email protected]) over a period of 30 work days failed to get any response. It's now been over 40 work days (2 months) – NO RESPONSE. I have been a loyal (and enthusiastic) user of D-Link products for over 30 years. Times change! I can no longer support a company which has a completely failed customer support policy. Richard S

I have no idea what this is...
But my husband said it works great, so there's that.

Takes the Florida weather so far
I actually have this mounted in a plastic box on a pole controlling 8 cameras. So far it works fantastic, love POE. Thank you!

Poor PoE performance!
Please do not buy this switch yet if you wish to use it as a PoE supply in your network. The firmware has some type of bug that D-Link knows about that causes PoE devices to "reboot" regularly. its almost as if its using the "PD Alive" function even though its not configured! All communications with Dlink to-date of me writing this review (Now past Amazons return window) have been answered but no solution as of yet. just that the engineers are working on a solution. Besides the PoE issue. I love the interface, looks very "cisco" ish.
