Balance Bar Nutrition Energy Bar, Cookie Dough, 1.76-Ounce Bars (Pack of 15)

These taste great, balance bars have become my go to snack bar/post workout bar. They have a decent amount of protein and vitamins. I originally found some great deals on amazon. I think I paid a little over $10 for a 15 pack, but the price is much higher now. Not sure why, but I started getting 6 packs at walmart for $5.36 which isn't too bad.

These things are basically a candy bar with much higher protein and other nutrients. Make sure to only bring one with you when you leave the house in the morning; when I've had more than one with me, I house them because they taste so good. I like the smaller (serving) size relative to the ProteinPlus bars I usually take, even though there's less protein/bar as a result. I lift decent weight (1st set of barbell bench is 1x135x25, 1x225x10-12, 1x225x8-10, 1x225x6-8; true max 315) and am training for warm-weather triathlons, so I need a good amount of protein without too many calories. I'll eat one or two of these a day, one usually as a meal/snack replacement and another before/after workout depending on the day.Just be careful, these things can easily be addictive leading you to eat more than you should or would with a bar that doesn't taste so good

I usually love whatever I buy from Amazon. However, I have to say that these Balance bars were a disappointment. Our family loves Balance bars and we thought these tasted pretty good--however, after running out and buying some at the local Safeway, we realized that the locally bought bars taste quite a bit better because they are FRESH. Turns out the chewy taste we were used to from the bars we purchased here are in fact, stale. They still taste decent, but from now on, we will watch for sales and not buy these online.

I love the peanut butter Balance Bars. People say these are good, but I thought they were horrible. My husband and older son did not like them either.

The bars were tasteless and not chewy. I would not purchase them again. Does Apex make a cookie dough nutrition bar?

PROS--It's better-tasting than some candybars, and regular BalanceBars don't spike my blood pressure (not an energy bar; those they call their "gold" line). Also the nutritional "balance" is at least on par with others-- bear in mind this qualifies as a meal (by the numbers if not for real), not just a snack.CONS--It will melt in heat (as in shipping); there has been some batch-to-batch variation for whatever reason, maybe the shipping, but they're still tasty; and as with other of these fairly dense protein bars, I prefer eating them with fluids, for better digestion. If I'm going to grab one heading out the door, for a breakfast, better get a drink too, or just eat half. 16g of protein is a big breakfast.

Was a good purchase for the price, but the taste wasn't there for me enough to buy these again..
