I'm not sure why this gets such terrible reviews. It's not entirely accurate but it's designed to give a simplified explanation of the circulatory system for children. My husband is a firefighter and my daughter (4 years old) is fascinated with his work especially during his EMT course. This provides a visual for her to see the blood coming into and out of the heart and to provide a gateway to questions she might not know to ask. She knows a heart pumps blood and has something to do with a pulse this provides her something to experience to link those ideas together. It has a small activity booklet. I have no idea if there are instructions in it as filling it is pretty self explanatory, just take the pump off fill it and pump the fluid in. If the dye packs are empty or dry, I haven't checked mine, some red flood coloring will suffice. I think people might be expecting a bit much of a toy.

Love this! My children couldn’t stop playing with it. They began to ask more questions and looked at the veins in their firearms asking if the blood in their veins comes from their heart.

This was a very good product in theory, however, it didn't really pump the "blood" as promised and the "blood" would get stuck in the the bottom of the heart which made it confusing. I purchased the item for a Cardiac Awareness Event and ended up taking it off the display and returning it as it made things more confusing. The water is placed in the pumping piece and so it never really pumps evenly and the red dye causes the water to stain on anything easily.

We bought this for my son’s project on the cardiovascular system. It worked perfectly to start, but started leaking after 20 kids tried pumping the blood.

excellent teaching tool. The dye for blood is very realistic and easy to use. The 5 year old kids in class loved pressing the pump to fill heart with blood. Just wish the lungs didn't fill with blood!

My grandson want to grow up to be a heart doctor . That the way he say it . So for him to play with this model were he is pumping blood to the hear the happy and that make me happy

Great way to demonstrate how blood flows. Using it my first aid courses.

It's alright(ish) but quality isn't good. There's no spare or replacement blood and although its says don't use food colouring, the manufacturer replied to my request for spares and instructed me to use food colouring
