This is the one! 100% working with Windows 11.
Firewire is an outdated technology but nothing is better at transferring miniDV tapes from an old camcorder. Unfortunately, most Firewire cards don't work on modern versions of Windows. Read the reviews of other cards and you'll see frustration with driver issues, computer lockups, and less-than-perfect transfers. I gave this card a shot because it specifically said: "for Windows 10" in the description. This card has a Molex power port and I wonder if that might be part of the reason it works so well. My PC still has Molex cables but a SATA to Molex adapter should work. I was able to digitize all my tapes using the included Firewire cable and free WinDV software.

Worked fine for me
Card was recognized immediately in a Dell 3670 on Windows 10. Sony Digital 8 VCR worked perfectly. I have no reason to downrate even though it was much less expensive than the alternatives. Easy install and was even able to use it with a legacy copy of Windows Movie Maker.

Do not buy (your mileage may vary)
Installed this card in a Gigabyte GA-Z77-HD3 system and it immediately prevented my computer from displaying video output through my graphics card and integrated graphics - I tested multiple BIOS configurations with the same result. Even when placed in a PCIe x1 slot, the system would not boot properly unless I removed the card. when I forced the onboard graphics or the graphics card, it crashed on startup. This behavior indicates the card is misprogrammed or reports an incorrect device ID to the system.

Works with camcorders to capture video
Excellent quality dv cable with FireWire pc port used pci e slot found on most pcs easy to install windows 10 has 1394 drivers built into it. FireWire has one end normal port plug and other end mini FireWire to plug into camcorders used in 2000 to 2012 before the smartphone era

Did not work for Sony i.Link Firewire connection for MiniDV camcorder
Did not work for either a MiniDV DCR-TRV33 MiniDV camcorder or a DCR-TRV460 8mm camcorder on Windows 10. I was able to install the card, and used the Molex connector. Windows does detect the card as a Texas Instruments 1394 card and installs it automatically. However, the camcorder itself, while plugged in, is not detected by any of the software programs used to capture video. I tried 3 different cables I have on hand as well. I also attempted to use the legacy 1394 driver for Windows 10 x64 but that also did not work. I will be returning this card due to this issue. I read that the VIA chipset versions work better with Windows 10, so I will be trying that next time. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the card WAS detected in Windows 10 and may actually work for other needs, like legacy audio equipment and the like. However, for Sony i.Link and Windows 10, it did not work for me.

Great card, but beware your motherboard firmware!
Great, well built card, but I spent 40+ hours diagnosing pegged CPU issues using it with a Presonus Firepod FP10. The culprit was a FAULTY MOTHERBOARD BIOS! Upon upgrading the BIOS firmware, this card's problems disappeared. Has been rock solid ever since. Talk about an out-of-left-field head-scratching insomnia-inducing nightmare!

Works, but: PC doesn't shut off when installed.
I have a windows 10 computer. Unfortunately, nothing I've done- and I have spent weeks on the problem, tweaking settings both in windows and bios side, resetting mobo jumpers, you name it- will stop it from telling my PC to start. So, if I shut the computer off, it will start up automatically. I have to turn the power supply off to prevent the issue. I cannot shut my PC off with it installed. Apparently this is a problem with some Firewire interfaces/cards/what have you on PC. The only solution I've reliably read from users is to find another card. Functionality, it worked with my firewire hardware well. Zero issues in that department. Used it with a MOTU audio interface no problem.

My goal: Extracting clips from my old Camcorder (a Sony DCR-TRV147E) via i.LINK port. I've never properly used i.LINK (aka Firewire) before, and my PC was not equipped. I went down a research rabbit-hole, but in the end gambled on this PCI Card because the price was reasonable (£18.99) & also included a cable. I'm glad to say that the gamble paid off, and that I'm glad I didn't go for one of those cheaper "USB to Firewire" adaptors - they do not work. Now, despite the box saying that this is the best "PCI Express wireless card" in China, it actually was the Firewire card I needed. It box contained the PCI Card, Firewire cable and a spare PCI bracket. To power the device I had to order a molex-to-sata cable (female molex to male SATA) separately. Initially my PC didn't see the device until I changed the PCI slot I was using. Windows stated the device was using the "Texas Instruments" chipset, but I wasn't seeing any video via i.LINK. Following a very handy guide (Google "studio1productions firewire") I installed a legacy driver, and before I knew it, my Camcorder was picked up by Window 10. I used a copy of Sony Vegas Pro 11 to extract the clips (available on archive.org) but you can also use an application like WinDV. After that, it was just the process of playing all tapes and capturing the footage. Definitely worth the investment if you have an old Camcorder that has not been backed up yet - they're not getting any younger.
