Ironton Air Hose Reel - holds 3/8in. x 100ft. Hose

Heavy duty product, I have no issues with it and it seems to work well. Bit of a pain to hang it in place but beyond that I’m happy with the purchase.

good build, heavy duty materials. ample storage for your air hose, smooth operation. only con is the mounting holes are slightly blocked, i had to put the lag bolts in at a slight angle

This hose Reel comes preassembled and ready to mount. It's made of sturdy steel construction and holds a full 100 ft. of 3/8" air hose. My only complaint is that the inlet and outlet connections are both 3/8" female NPT while most commercially available 3/8" air hose comes with 1/4" NPT male end fittings. This wasn't a deal breaker, but it cost me an extra ten bucks or so and a trip to the hardware store to make it fit to my inlet and outlet hoses. One aspect of this hose reel that I really like is it's simplicity. it doesn't automatically rewind like many of the fancier and more expensive designs, but since I usually extend my air hose while in use and leave it extended, I don't have to fight with a reel that constantly tugs at my hose wanting to reel it back in. Another great design feature of this reel is its spring loaded design that puts a slight resisting torque on the reel drum preventing it from freewheeling and overfeeding the hose. This feature works better than I expected. One other manufacturing glitch I found was that the 3/8" elbow discharge that connects to the hose was installed extremely tightly, and I couldn't budge it loose to adjust its angle. Again this was a minor issue, but it would have been better if the elbow fitting wasn't installed so tightly. All in all though, I've very satisfied with this hose reel, and it was a real bargain for the price. If you like this type of design, I'd recommend buying one of these. If it weren't for the couple of minor issues mentioned above, I'd give it a full 5 stars.

i'm a huge fan of the "blue reels" but not a fan of the price that comes with it so i thought i'd give this a try. it's advertised as an air hose reel but i wanted another pressure washer reel that i could mount on my 4400psi machine. it holds 100ft of my 3/8 - steel braided hose perfectly with room to spare. i was concerned about the swivel holding up under that much pressure but it held up well. i purchased a higher pressure swivel just in case but didn't have to use it. this product is extremely heavy duty and built well. the fittings are 3/8 npt so i didn't have to modify any connections as long as your hose ends are 3/8 as well.

Not bad, installation is a pain.. the slotted holes are right behind the the edge of the drum making it very difficult to hand start lag screws and impossible to get a ratchet in there, they should have just moved the holes a half inch more inboard it would have made all the difference in the world! Also, if you have a 3/8-in air hose with quarter inch FTP fittings (most are) you will need to get two reduction bushings 3/8in MIP x 1/4in FIP to install one for the lead in hose swivel fitting, the other for the outlet air hose fitting. Also the elbow that the air hose screws onto was not angled properly on my reel, took a lot of force to bring the angle down so the hose would wind better and not kink as bad.. if you're installing by yourself, I suggest making a template, mark and pre-drill so you can hand start your lag screws.... Haven't tested for leaks yet..
