Hand-Crafted Didgeridoo

I am brand new to the didgeridoo and am enjoying learning on this. I have had it for less than a week and am surprised at how easy it is to learn with just a little time spent on it each day. Mine arrived intact, no broken pieces or cracks. I believe it is plastic ("polymer") made to look like old wood. Mine included the extra beeswax mouth piece that I used to make the opening for my mouth smaller. The beeswax does have a smokey smell which is common with unfiltered, unrefined beeswax (because smoke is used to calm bees when working on hives - beeswax smells smokey until it is filtered and refined). If you want beeswax without smell for a mouthpiece, look for a cosmetic grade beeswax (that you can also use to make your own lip balms and sunscreens). I'm giving this a 5 star rating as it is inexpensive; looks okay, like aged wood (I might paint some designs on mine); works fine for learning some basic techniques; sounds good as far as I can tell; and it is fun to play around with. I don't have anything to compare it to. If I continue to like it and keep playing, I will likely replace this with something better (higher quality and more expensive, real wood maybe) in the future and keep this one around for guests who want to give it a try.

I can't really compare the ease of play for this didge with other didgeridoos since it's the first one I've played, but it seems to have a strong vibrant drone and plenty of volume. My ten year old daughter even got a nice resonant sound out of it on her first try. It amplifies actual pitches too if you hum a pitch-bending note into it while playing, makes this intense throbbing sound when I get it right. I don't know if all didgeridoos get that effect or not, I was just experimenting and found it. My daughter got this trippy water drop sound too by patting the mouth piece with the palm of her hand...I'm gonna have fun with this thing. I'm not getting very much in the way of the iconic overtones that give the didgeridoo it's really distinctive sound, but that's probably because I'm not getting the right buzz yet...I mean with my lips, my head gets plenty floaty after a good 10-15 minutes...did I just write that? I will keep working on my technique, it's probably me. But really even just a nice rhythmic drone on this baby is a fantastic object of attention for meditation. A nice relaxing way to sit in dim light and exercise the diaphragm and go inward. The beeswax mouthpiece is quite comfortable. The aesthetic appeal is nice, kinda rustic looking; it passes for real wood unless you examine it up close. The weight of this composite material is light, and it'd tough; I dropped it already and there was not even a scratch. This thing is tall, 5' or thereabouts, so if you want a compact didge maybe look around some more. Can't beat the price and I see no problem at all with the quality. I would buy it again.

Excellent resonance. Easy to play. Nice beeswax mouth embouchure which fits my small mouth. Interesting bent shape makes it look natural. from a distance it looks like wood up close it's not pretty. This should be perfect for my sound baths. Also much easier to keep clean than my bamboo Didge.

PLASTIC, PLASTIC, PLASTIC! I had a feeling that a wood didge would be more expensive (maybe I didn't read the description close enough "more durable than wood"). Be aware that this didge is made from plastic (PVC probably). It's painted to look like wood, and the look is convincing. Other than that, it plays pretty good. No better or worse than my homemade PVC didge, but it looks nicer. If you are looking for a synthetic didge that doesn't look like a sewage pipe, then this is a pretty inexpensive option. Would be good purchase for someone curious about playing didgeridoo. I gave five stars because it is what it advertises itself to be--a synthetic didgeridoo. Also, it doesn't have the weird chemical smell of regular PVC. I'll definitely be playing this more often than my homemade didge. UPDATE: I have been thoroughly enjoying playing this instrument, and it has quickly become my favorite didge. The sound is booming and with a little adjustment to the wax mouthpiece (extra wax was included) the articulations are extremely clear. The back pressure is pretty good so no problem with circular breathing. This was a great deal!

Its really cool. I've never played a didgeridoo but I play tuba for the school band. This was really easy to play and it sounds great. They even give you extra beeswax. 5/5

Not a bad didge for around $30-40! Product came as expected. PVC construction with some cool cosmetics. Very light, but seems durable. It has a nice, deep, resonant sound. A more experienced friend told me that the mouthpiece could stand to be narrowed down a bit, the fact that beeswax is provided is a huge help there. Overall its a pretty decent product for a beginner or a beater didge. I would recommend it if you're looking for something cool to honk on but don't want to drop a ton of cash on a wooden one.

I had bought the smaller one in D tone by this company, and then I bought this one to compare. This one is easy to play and is well designed, it looks like real wood just like the smaller D tone but is thicker material. It’s tuned perfectly and just like the other it is an easy play fun didge, if you are a complete didge beginner, the D is a little easier to start, but this one is easier for circular breathing. I’m actually impressed by this one, and the other one too. I have had issues with didges on here with tuning and playability, both of these had none. I do want to note that I had used my free wax ring that came with this one on the smaller D didge because it fit perfectly then I formed my own for this one, with new wax rings both these didges are by far the best you can find on here. Even without adding the new wax rings they are darn near perfect.

Love this Digeridoo ! Took a day to get the drone and a week to begin circular breathing. It's light weight so easy to transport. The wax mouthpiece needed re-shaping to get it to work but its easy to do.

Sounds fine, looks fine, good price. Painting on it was washing away due to the moisture place it was placed in store

This is my third didge. I have a D and an E tuned didge, and this is a C. It's definitely harder to play than my others, but it may be the size of the mouthpiece. I plan to add the bees wax that was included, so the mouthpiece is better sized. The sound is wonderful. Not as bright sounding, but that's the reason for getting the low C. The drone is hypnotic.
