Works great. Identifies the first wire well. Clamp is well made with good contact on my chip. I used it to reflash a SOP 16 soldered BIOS chip. Just used some jumpers to attach to SOP 8 and my CH341a. Didn’t even need to reposition the clamp.

This allowed me to program my SPI flash without de-soldering and re-soldering. Not too difficult to attach, just takes some practice.

After buying two competing products that just included the clip and no wiring / adapter, it was nice that this came with all the necessary parts to program 16-pin Flash chips. It was also nice that the images included a proper wiring diagram to be able to use this with an 8-pin I2C/SPI flash programmer -- with the clip, some breadboard patch cables I had on hand and a CH341 programmer, I was able to re-flash the Winbond W25Q128EGFV in my bricked router. Giving 4 stars because it did take 3 cycles of erase/write before the write succeeded, but I'm also not sure if that's the fault of the clip, the CH341 programmer, the MacOS drivers or got knows what else.

The pins do NOT go all the way to the end of the clip, as seen in their photos. I could NOT get the clip pins to connect properly to a 16 pin board mainboard mounted BIOS chip for a recovery flash. The pins are too short, they do not make proper contact at all. The clip spring is too tense and snaps off of the chip right away and will not stay attached to the ic. There is a good 1/6th of an inch at least for this to connect to, it should not be a problem. Cheap made in china stuff, still on the search for the right cable.
