Transcend 480 GB TLC SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5" Solid State Drive (TS480GSSD220S)

Working for years, transferred between few machines but still alive after more than few thousand of working hours. Very recommend it for long time data save.

While it's not the fastest or the cheapest among the SSDs, it is still way faster than any conventional HD, even the 7,200 RPM models. I chose the 480GB unit over 512GB model because it was significantly cheaper. I cringe whenever people move about with the laptop in their hands while it's on and not in sleep or off mode. A sure way to potentially damage the HD. One of the main advantages of SSD besides the increased speed is no moving parts, thus it gives you the freedom to lug the laptop around without damaging it while it's on. When you've gone SSD, it's hard to go back to using conventional HD. I must have over dozen laptop HDs sitting in the drawer, merely serving as a backup drive in case SSD crashes and burns. I have installed about two dozen SSDs in laptops past four years. Luckily, none have failed thus far. I keep the original HDs because SSDs can and do fail from time to time. This 480 GB Transcend unit is performing admirably thus far in a Dell unit. I've used couple other Transcend SSDs in the past without any problems.

Got it on a New Years special. Great drive for the price. I'm getting the posted speeds which is a major plus. Put into a new PC and installed windows from USB in under a minute. I have been buying Transcend disks for several years now, solid state, flash memory and spinners. I have found them to be reliable, less expensive than the big name brands, but also somewhat slower, so I buy them when speed is not that important to me. When speed is important I usually buy Samsung, but expect to pay a noticeable premium for that extra speed. I bought this drive as an external usb3 drive for a MacBook Air and enclosed it in a UASP optimized enclosure to use it to store digital photos when I travel. I have run speed tests on it and confirmed that it is somewhat slower (about 25% for writing, about the same for reading) than a similar Samsung SSD that I use on my main desktop for photo processing, but fast enough for what I want to do, and considerably less expensive than the Samsung. I have not noticed any of my Transcend drives becoming hot when used and, being solid state, they can be moved even when data is being written to or read from them. I use Transcend products in my digital camera, as auxiliary memory (the Transcend JetDrive) in my MacBook Pro and now as added memory to my traveling laptop and have never had an issue with any of the Transcend products. As I mentioned, they are not as fast as some of the more expensive products, but fast enough for use when the load is not too heavy and speed is not that important.

Bought a used PC that did not come with a HDD. Got this one to use in it.

Easy install work, perfect first time out.

I purchased this ssd to replace my laggy 7200 rpm hdd, what a night and day difference! The boot up time was cut in half with this drive and everything loaded and opened up super fast. The only downside is that my motherboard only supported the 3gbs speed instead of the 6gbs, imagine how much faster it would be with 6gbs! Even if you can't use the full speed and have an older motherboard, you should still upgrade to this ssd. You'd be glad you did!

This SSD met all expectations. It was easy to install. Make sure to download the Transcend SSD Scope software. I used the clone tool and it copied my C: drive and OS system and programs on to the SSD. It took about three hours. After moving the SSD into the boot slot the computer started up fast and without issue. Every start up since then has been amazingly fast. Formerly slow programs (like Photoshop) now come up in a fraction of the time they used to take. The delay is almost none existence.

I'm using core2Duo system OS-7 64 bit. Before using transcend SSD my boot time is approx 1 Mint. After installing this Transcend SSD System boot aprox. 18 Sec. Now I'm using so many application at a time like Photo editing, Coping, playing Game But it work so smoothly. Transcend product price is high compare to any other brand, but it is my fist choice. HDD is so important in Computer because if it crash Your whole DATA will lost. So I blindly believe in Transcend Product. And if you purchase any Transcend product don't forget to verify whether You get Original product or not by its serial no. . Check product originality in Transcend website

Super im Umzug von der Systemfestplatte SSD auf eine deutlich größere SSD. Erforderlich vom Hersteller die Software für einen reibungslosen Ablauf, einfach alte SSD raus und neue einbauen. System starten, kurz warten und alles wird gut 😃

Support Taiwan! If you're looking for 10 year reliability, go for MLC Flash SSD370S with DRAM cache. If on a budget, get this 3D TLC SSD220S without DRAM cache. Only trust Transcend, you won't regret it.

ps4 proに搭載するために購入しました。 単純にロードが爆速です。システムの都合なのか短縮されないロード部分もありますがアクションゲームの場面移行など5〜8秒ほどかかっていたものが1〜2秒程度に短縮されました。ロードを挟む機会が多いゲームには効果絶大と思われます
