Laminated Cover
To my surprise the book came with a laminated cover. Same with another Schirmer book I bought last month. Not sure if this is something new they are doing across the board, but it's a pleasant surprise. Hopefully it'll increase the lifespan of the book.

Great printing
Easy to read and follow. This book has some great pieces. The fingerings are a bit strange in some sections, I would recommend finding your own or use a different copy for that.

Quality sheet music
I bought this primarily for Consolation #3 and Liebestraume but I appreciate the other pieces also included. The pedal and fingering notations are also nice. Nice quality book of music, thank you for the good price.

Amazon Prime is awesome.
My student performed Liebestraum in a recital at school in March. Another student was interested in learning it so I bought this score. The day it arrived I took it to school and attended the final recital of the year. Two seniors programmed an arrangement of Liebestraum for flute and piano and the pianist wasn’t prepared. I pulled this score out and accompanied her. Timing is everything. Thank you Amazon for your fast shipping

Preferred Over Dover
I own both Dover and Schirmer versions. Dover version is more "cramped", some would argue, more concise. For example, Consolation #3 is 3 pages in Dover, but 6 pages in Schirmer). Schirmer has fingering notations, next to none in Dover (only 4 to be exact, in Consolation #3). Spreading out the notes visually has the added benefit of aiding in timing, as the melodic right upper hand is in double time and the left hand accompaniment is in triplet time for most of this piece.

Simply a joy.
I'm not a Liszt expert by any stretch but this edition to my musical sense looks good. The fingering and pedaling are clear. Having handled many sub-par Schirmer editions in my youth I've tended to avoid them but this is outstanding. The print is excellent, the layout is large and well spaced. Easy to read. Love it.

Buying liszt works
I'm not a puritan, in my point of view, urtext editions are right, but I love Schirmer's Library, because Rafael Joseffy offers correct fingering. Then these editions are so cheap. I'm glad with my book.

Things have changed and not for the better!
The yellow paper cover is smooth and shiny, unlike the traditional matte. Unexpected and not sure if I can personally tolerate the slick feel The pages themselves seem to have almost the same paper (but still think it has changed), but printing quality seems to have decreased more noticeably. Notes, lines and such are not as crisp or has unfilled speckles that make the notes harder to read. Darkness seems mostly even, but not printed as dark as other books from years past. The note paper seems more apt to cling to itself so page turns are more difficult. It feels about the same weight and texture as other Schirmer books from years before, but not sure what specific change is causing it to behave differently.
