Just works
Very impressed with how easy to install it is, the size is perfect, very small profile and connected via matter to my Apple TV 4K within a couple of minutes. I’ve used it to control the on/off function on some led lights I’ve installed in a cabinet, wiring was fused switched spur to junction box, flex cable from junction box to this controller in, then flex cable to transformer which is powering 4 led strips. There’s a button on the controller that acts as a switch, but could also wire in a switch too, I’ve chosen not too as can switch on and off from the fused spur. Works perfectly with Apple home kit via the Apple TV acting as a matter hub and lights can now be set up on automation via the Apple home kit app.

Easy setup
Easy to wire. Nice and small, fits inside my standard size back box with blanking plate. Would not fit in a small lighting back box with a switch plate attached. Setup and connection worked first time with no faffing about. Maybe best first smart home setup I've seen.

Love these but you will have problems installing via an iPhone if you run the native firmware&app
Fab little units that solve the age-old problem of bringing together dumb and smart devices - and definitely gets the wife on board with all this smart home stuff... Tech support has a fancy website/ticketing system but in reality, you need to solve issues yourself using the forums - my original ticket is still "being processed". After hours of messing about with these units and 2Ghz vs 5Ghz wifi networks, it seems that the Ewelink iPhone app is the issue. It seems it just does not allow you to connect/configure/register new devices if you are on IOS13.5. Interestingly switching and setting these up with an iPad Pro (also on IOS 13.5) worked like a dream first time (if this had have been the case on my iPhone this would have got 5 stars). However, once set up you can see the devices in the Eweling app on your iPhone too. I've integrated these into my Home Assistant instance and they work great, and I guess if you plan to flash with ESP Home/Tasmoda rather than running the native firmware then the whole iPhone setup fiasco with Ewelink shouldn't be an issue for you...

An amazing piece of kit!
Amazing piece of kit! It’s tiny and fits nicely in the back of the switch box spur to control kitchen cabinet lights, which are now part of my Apple HomeKit system. An added bonus is that the lights being controlled by the Sonoff Mini 4RM can also be controlled using a push button switch that I fitted into a space on the switch plate, see pic. (The switch on the spur box is being used to power the Sonoff). I intend to expand the use of these mini Sonoff’s around the house; especially for ceiling spots. In this case, like most houses I haven’t got a neutral at the light switch, but it looks simple to install a mini Sonoff at the ‘first light’ in the ceiling, and connect ‘S2’ to one of the live wires going back to the switch. As before, in this scenario HomeKit will control the lights, but with the existing physical switch being available as backup should anything go wrong. edit: Sonoff likes to phone home often, even when being controlled locally within the HomeKit network. I’ve now blocked all outflows. It’d be nice if Sonoff knew that it was being controlled locally and provide the option to switch off internet flows.

Home Assistant
Got these after much research, the installation is pretty straightforward. The 1st switch had negative to the socket and the other is in the ceiling rose. One tip! if your installing in the ceiling rose consider changing the rose lid for a deeper one... they are available and will mean you don't need to stick the switch in the ceiling void. In my setup... i don't use the Zigbee usb hub, the device acts as a wifi access point! once connected I updated the SSID and password, setup a static IP address on my IoT vlan. worked 1st time... been running over my wifi with NO issues or restarts... I will use these moving forward and have already brought 4 more. Great product, great integration into my network and works seamlessly with Home Assistant.

Convert existing lighting
Have a few of these over the house. Work great with existing lights and switches. There is just a live and neutral feed, live and neutral load to the light and then 2 connections to monitor the switch. You can easily adapt the wiring in a ceiling rose or light fitting. Had a couple fail on me recently making me think the build quality is not the greatest but I can't find an equivalent on amazon.

Worth every penny
Works a treat but the pairing mode as explained in the pamphlet is rubbish, doesn't work properly, keep the button pressed first time till the light flashes Intermittently, then press the button down again until it constantly flashes, then it's in pairing mode, this is the way ALL sonoff devices need to be set, this little beauty runs the 2 way controlled lights in my garage because I'm forever in and out and forgetting the lights, would i buy again ? definitely ! sonoff products are spot on

EXCELLENT LITTLE DEVICE
What a fantastic little module. Wi-Fi operated, but also fully compatible with on/off switch (i.e. light switch). Regardless of it's state (on or off), EITHER a Wi Fi command, *OR* a reversal of the switch position will change it's state. So it can be used with 2-way switching (or even multi-way switching). (The instructions make clear it needs a continuous "make" or an open circuit - a momentary switch won't do.) A note of caution: It is described as a DIY module - which it is - meaning it has to be installed inside an "enclosure" AND the switch wiring has to be isolated from the mains (i.e. it uses volt-free switching). It is small enough to fit behind a UK switch ( if the back box is quite deep), or inside larger lighting fittings. Note: It needs a Neutral (not always availabe at a switch). I installed two units inside a 2-gang plastic patress box in the loft, next to the wiring centre, where a neutral is available). Very easy to install if you have electrical experience - but I wouldn't advise it if you haven't. Initial impression: Quite remarkable for the price.

It was very simple and easy to setup. I had wire & switch from my desk lamp and I reused them for the testing. The instructions for wiring were clear. Just needed to make sure that the phase & neutral was correct (use a tester). Once powered up, I scanned the code using my iPhone and within 2 minutes, it was ready for use.
