Very good long term storage option
Very good, and better than one might expect or hope to get from LTS milk. I purchased this for $18 in 2020 (now, $40 in 2024 after "Bidenomics"), it "expired" in late 2022, and I'm drinking it in 2024 over a year after "expiration." Considering this powdered milk is now almost 3.5 yrs old and 1.5 years past "expiration," the benefit is obviously having milk available on the shelf, for very long term. My overall impression is that it mixes best with a power mixer/whisk or blender on low setting (to avoid making it frothy). If you intend to drink it straight, it is best when very cold (ice) or chilled overnight in refrigerator. It has a very "fresh farm milk" taste, thick, and rich, with a slight chalkiness. (I prefer organic fresh 1% milk but enjoy whole, skim, and 2%.) I have drank a gallon or two of this powdered milk, when I ran out of fresh milk between grocery store trips. I also find it works very well for an ingredient in recipes that call for milk (smoothies, baking, etc.). I kept it on the pantry shelf until opened in late 2023, and then stored in the refrigerator once opened. Still working through it, it has lasted many months opened in the refrigerator. I'm very happy with the shelf life of nearly 2x as advertised. I'm happy with my purchase, but staggered at a 2x price increase in about 3 years. Inflation and more people prepping.... I will be watching for price reductions, and buying several more.In summary, it is a pretty good drinkable milk, and excellent for cooking/baking ingredient. It is best mixed in a blender on low settings, and best drank very cold in my experience.

MUCH healthier than the non-fat skimpy dry moo in grocery stores.
Yummy!!Been searching for a powdered FULL FAT 100 percent complete milk.Non fat, low fat milk is unnatural, altered. Read about the health problems it causes on NATURAL medicine doctors' websites...This whole milk is very good! Has a taste of milk mixed with rich cream. Nice and thick, perfect for coffee. Heating it makes a delicious white cheese on top! This is real milk!! Also buying powdered full fat goat milk to add to this; Meyenberg Whole Powdered Goat Milk, Vitamin D, 12 OunceMuch better than those unhealthy high fructose corn syrup, dried oils coffee creamers.I live on 4th floor in new apartment, it is hard to haul milk daily with no elevator. So am using dry milk until can buy a home. But will still keep this dry whole milk for coffee, cocoa...Very happy with this product. Saves money; just a couple teaspoons is enough for coffee! In the past 2017-2018 this milk was ok. In 2019; Intestine cramps. Try to make it like plain whole milk. I have tried using less, more...; it still taste great but my intestines hurt! Does something weird to digestion. Other brands of plain non-fat dry milk, whole milk and plain whole liquid milk from grocery store is ok. Cannot figure why this whole dry milk is causing this problem. Had to throw it away. Too bad, because being able to make milk at home saves a lot of heavy lifting, trips to the store and money.UPDATE; Nov 2020; up to 5 stars; Maybe was a older 'bad batch...' in past? Cramps can occur from too much calcium.I notice this milk does not melt in water. Hot water melts it easy. Also; this product does NOT contain soy. Lot other dry milk has soy. Soy causes many health problems. So; I am staying with this 'no soy added' milk for now. And; Been studying about the 'certain type of' Vitamin D... added to many other milks. Lot side effects if overdose! I think I will stay with this Hoosier and other a pure dry milks with NOTHING ADDED. Real milk as it is from the cow. Get my D from the sun and natural food. Looks like this milk does not have anything added.

A decent milk alternative, but i like the taste of Natrel better
This milk lovin' Southern girl doesn't get to the store much, so it's nice to find a decent milk alternative. Kinda tastes like the powdered creamer you put in coffee. If you're super spoiled on the whole fat milk (liquid) you buy in stores, this isn't for you and likely you'll complain about the taste. If you haven't drunk milk for awhile, you probably won't mind it. This is a breeze to mix. Not sure why so many people are complaining it doesn't mix. btw i don't use warm water from tap, it's not hot enough. I warm water on stove top and then mix maybe half a cup of that water with my milk powder and it dissolves almost instantly. Also, it's useful to put your liquid, powder into clean jar, seal with lid and shake well. Homemade blender action, works every time. I have not yet mastered the art of making this powdered (whole) milk and it always tastes diluted to me. Of course, that's on my own head as I'm clearly not using enough powder. Though that's another thing i like about this as you can customize, using more or less which influences the nutritional content. I've used this in my coffee and also baked goods. Overall, it's a good product, no complaints at all, would recommend to anyone that is housebound, doesn't drive or can't get out to the store a lot like me.
