My old one broke. I could have bought directly from Steinberg, but it was cheaper through Amazon. You have to have this key in order to access Steinberg software, i.e. Cubase.

I misplaced my dongle during a move, and the only way I could think of to find it was to order a new one. I ordered this new one and it works fine and of course I found the original one as soon as I got this replacement! So now I have two but that’s OK. I can have my DAW on two computers at once now!

Allows me to use my cubase and wavelab software on two (or more) different computers. Very easy to set up licences. Have bought a little usb pen drive case for it though as it's quite fragile and if it is lost or broken then that's your software gone forever!
