Fighting fire ants is a constant battle. This is the best product we have found so far. It actually kills the whole mound!

We have neighbors across the street who have harbored fire ants for years without bothering to treat their lawn and now they regularly, after mowing, tend to migrate across the street to our property. This takes care of mounds quickly. We only use it in our front yard though, as its harmful to pets. We use a different treatment in our backyard if they show up there.

In the south fire ants are a common culprit in our yards. We sprinkle on a mound and around the mound and the ants move underground. And show up in another part of the yard. I like sprinkling directly on and around the mound.

I highly recommend this product. Super easy to use, and living in Florida fire ants everywhere, I run it through a hand cranked fertilizer broadcaster around my entire yard to keep the little monsters at bay. Usually I only have to treat a mound once and usually it is taken care of within 24 hours. The bag is large enough for me for a season. It does have a smell, so you do not want to store it inside your house.

One treatment killed all 8 fire ant beds and they have not returned. I sprinkled it all around the beds 2 ft out then destroyed the beds and sprinkled it on top.

This works better than nothing but in my judgement is not as effective as Amdro yard treatment. I am still noticing g some fire ant beds so will switch back to Amdro in the fall.
