I love this color. It is the right shade of darker red that I have been searching for. I am a natural redhead and this color is a tinge darker than my natural color but it’s got the perfect color of red for me and the closest I have found. After all of the box dyes I have tried and the damage they have done to my hair…I am so glad to have found out about henna. I have tried one other brand and this one is my favorite #1 pick from the two. This one is much easier to use because this color doesn’t have to release the dye for 10 hrs like the other. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Included in the box were a pair of gloves and a plastic wrap to use during the processing time. My hair is by far healthier than before when using chemical box dyes and it lasts soooo much longer! My gray hair that I have now on my temple areas and around the crown of my head (I have two crowns lol) cover so well. When my mom saw me after using henna to color my hair, she said “Ohhhh I finally have my redhead back!” Lol! So it’s mom approved as well :) Your hair, especially anywhere there is gray or lighter hair, will be bright or very vibrant for the first few days as it settles in. So expect it to change and simmer down to the correct tone in about 2-3 days. Just bear with it and don’t panic…it will tone down. That may not be everyone with every color but that is my experience. I guess the only thing negative I can say about henna (and that is with both of the henna brands I have tried at this point) is the smell of my hair afterwards for about 3-4 days. It’s not unbearable but it is a strong earthy smell. That’s the only way I know how to explain it. I get whiffs of it when the wind blows it or just from moving around. The price is very good I feel for this henna product. If your new to henna, trust me, take the plunge and you won’t regret it!

I've used several different brands of henna, and without a doubt, this is my favorite! Not only does each box have enough henna for two applications -- my hair is down to the middle of my back -- but the coverage and color is exceptional. When my roots grow out, it's gray. Mostly gray. However, you wouldn't know because Light Mountain henna covers it, making all my hair one color. No gray. Plus, with other brands, my hair has felt course afterwards. With Light Mountain, it looks and feels amazing. The color. The shine. The coverage makes my hair look thick and healthy. I typically use half a box, add warm water, stir, and add water until it resembles thick porridge. I then "paint" it on my roots, and with gloved hands "goop" the rest onto my hair, and gently massage into my hair. I cover my hair with a plastic bonnet, and let it sit for at least an hour before washing it. In 90-minutes or less my hair is done for 6 or so weeks! Additionally, it's not grainy like some hennas. It washed out quickly, leaving no residue.

This is my go to Henna, it makes my hair shiny, healthy, and thicker. Mixing it is easy, and I only need to leave this on for an hour. The color is beautiful and i get compliments on it all the time. It totally covers my gray without harsh chemicals.

This is my first try at natural hair dye and I couldn't be happier. If you've never used henna, let me just say that it is odd looking (my husband saw me using it and called it poo...he's right, it does look like poo). It also has a smell very similar to hay (like that you would feed horses). It didn't bother me or my husband but it is definitely noticeable (and will be for a day or so after you are done, even if you've washed your hair). To me, that chemical smell of the other kinds of dye is WAY worse. The process is longer than the chemical dyes but isn't anything too crazy; between prep, application, setting and "finalizing" it was probably a total of 4 hours. Please note that I'm an adventurous rebel and didn't do a strand test or a skin test before application. I cannot even begin to describe this beautiful color. Oh my god- FANTASTIC. My hair was a sort of golden brown prior to application and after came out a nice mahogany with goldish-red highlights. My hair is softer and more manageable than ever, too. WOW. I will never use anything but this to dye my hair from now on.

I have been using Henna for 20 years and out of all the brands, this one is the best. It's leaves the hair with the nicest shades of dark brown/ and redish highlights. The other brands sometimes gave me an orange look. I would like to buy this one in a bulk size. I mix it with tea, coffee and when I want to be really really red, some red zinger tea. It's comes out beautiful and worth the time and mess--yet understand, it's not for everyone. It's something I grew accustomed to---leaving time, energy to clean up after and having much bravery for you never know exactly what color your hair will show up as until you finish and wait a day later after all is washed out and dried. Good luck for those who struggle with henna. I simply love it and will not need a salon to color my hair.
