Today Programme Puzzle Book: The puzzle book of 2018

Beautifully typeset, laid out, and presented on lovely fine quality paper, this is the Rolls Royce of maths puzzle books. Yes, not all the puzzles involve maths, but a great many of them do -- so if you like or love maths puzzles, this is the book for you. Just in time for Christmas, too. The puzzles are first rate and come from a lot of very clever contributors from the world of maths, science, and logic. All brilliant folks with a sense of fun. Enjoy!

I listen to Radio 4's Today programme online and I always enjoy its daily puzzles. This is an excellent compilation of these puzzles (including answers and handy reference materials) that make for a perfect party game or entertainment on long trips.

The subject of many (at times testing) hours of enjoyment. Just what I wanted, and a great book to test the old grey matter

This is quite a tough collection of puzzles - they make you think (strain the grey inactive mush), and feel (like a genius when you get the occasional one right, and like an idiot when you get the majority wrong). Luckily the answers are all explained in detail in the back of the book, so it's possible to know not only the answer but why the answer was what it was. There is a brief appendix with all kinds of random information, ranging from capital cities to Today presenters, which I didn't refer to at all, and plenty of pages for notes (I don't like writing in books). There are 280 puzzles - all typical types are included, but they are all infernally difficult!

Bought as presents for 3 more intelligent friends. I listen to the "Today" programme every day, but at that time in the morning, my brain's just not awake enough to solve the daily test. So, perhaps I'll persevere with the book instead. It still looks frighteningly difficult.
