Ok now I have gotten this dye about a month or so ago & I'm finally ready to do a review about the product. The product comes w/ instructions of how long it should stay on your hair, comes at gloves inside, the two liquids to mix together to activate the dye & a mini conditioner. The smell is a bit strong in my opinion but then again w/ these kinds of hair dyes you're going to expect some sort of potent smell to it. I've had it on for about a month & it's still going strong. Make sure to use shampoo that is good for dyed hair or else the whole dye will come off, lose it's color & it will not last, but, it's a good dye to use, it's affordable & you get 3 for the price of one. I didn't get an allergic reaction to it, make sure to dab a bit on your hand or arm to see if it reacts to it to make sure your not actually allergic to it. I've been wanting to dye my hair black & I am quite happy w/ the dye. It's really good & still going strong w/ the color; I do recommend it b/c it's really good, affordable, easy to use even for a beginner plus it stays for a good while. I will buy more but I may try the jet black, but, I do love the soft black.

This hair dye is less expensive than what i normally pay in the store, i can get these 3 for the same price as just one Garnier in Target or Walgreens. There is some difference in quality though. I find that it is a bit messier, it says 'gel' but it is very thin which isn't a huge deal but it takes a couple of post showers to get the dye from my hair line off (or any other part of my skin that the dye got on)! I make sure i dye my hair the week before any major events. There is no wash out effect, and it maintains the color for the duration. i originally purchased the same brand/color as the single pack just to see if i would like it and after all was said and done, it's not as good as my usual brand Garnier but i can dye my hair 3 times for the same price as just one so that in itself is worth the differences!

This is the 2nd time I've used the colorsilk soft black. As far as longevity, this stays in so, so long...the last time I use this it stayed in for over a year I had to actually just cut my hair and it did kind of produce a really cool reverse ombre effect when my hair grew out though, so it was kind of cool. Scent: there is much of one. This is a non-ammonia formula, so you don't get that super strong smell just taking over your bathroom for a couple of days. Ease-of-use: I would say gets the lowest rating because this formula in particular does tend to get quite messy. It's black hair dye, put down stuff, put down towels you don't care about messing up any more, wear a robe over your clothes when you do this, and use a liberal amount of Vaseline around your hairline and on your neck, because this will get messy. Pic 1: Grow out about a year after first use with colorsilk 45 added to the roots for a reverse ombre...2017ish Pic 2: 2nd Use Before Jul 2019 Pic 3: 2nd Use After Jul 2019

such a quick easy little thing to get! a little messy if you don’t know what you are doing ,and i recommend putting vaseline around your hairline and on your ears so not to stain your skin while dying your hair and getting a not harsh shampoo so not to strip the color from your hair quicker.

I've been dying my hair most of my life, and I've tried pretty much every product out there. I've dyed black for at least 10 years and I have to say, ColorSilk is by far the longest-lasting brand I've encountered. Black is touchy because it can fade pretty quickly, and a LOT of the pricier brands wash out super quickly. This does not go anywhere. All I have to do is touch up my roots at this point, I only refresh all the color maybe once or twice a year. If you're dying black, I can say with confidence that ColorSilk is the most color-fast, and it even thoroughly covers those pesky silver hairs as well.
